No? I'm not looking to handicap myself so Necromorphs are more of a challenge. I want the Director to get its ass in gear and give me opponents that might actually stand a chance at killing me.
The original have zero reason to backtrack, so every sec you spent Not on the mission is every sec you waste, thus it don't have so many familiar corridor needs to fill it with Necs
I will vote for random hunter encounter and optional "Boss" fight
Finished your impossible run yet?
Late game several quarantines will be a mix of spitter, enhanced, soldier, demo, and baby makers.
It's not Dark Souls but I don't know anyone who did impossible with zero reloads when things looked like they might go sideways.
Game literally has a "die once and it's over, we delete or downgrade your save" difficulty. That's actually far more hardcore than most "old" games.
The Director is an automated system the devs built into the game that executes certain scripts depending on the situation. It might spawn some enemies, trigger quarantines, or just try to scare you. It's also responsible for loot drops and such.
