Or how to beat the first boss...
To be honest i'm just going stealth everything, first boss is not really a boss, i already found another encounter with exact same unit, its a miner... very predictable pattern. Also with stealth and perfect aim most of those enemies fall with one shotgun blast (im on hard).
There are very few enemies that will hit you with high likelyhood, otherwise they are almost blind.
-Prey (2006) and Prey (2017)
-Alien Isolation
-Dead Space 2 :)
-The Callisto Protocol
-Chronicles of Riddick (it's more of a stealth game, but it has horror elements and great, heavy atmosphere)
-Signalis
-Quake IV

And i also enjoyed Hellpoint, which is sci-fi soulslike game. If you like hard games and can stomach pretty bad first hours of it, then it became quite awesome. Its not horror per se, but has strangely looking monsters etc. really cool stuff for s-f lovers.

Thats exactly the games i like, most of the games that are said to be "hard" stop being hard after few hours and i find myself having stockpile of resources (which should have been scarce)...
Btw those who recommended SIGNALIS its a masterpiece thank you for sharing it.
Reminds me of Darkwood but both stop being hard after few hours.
But these are subjective. I'm giving Alien Isolation a second chance, after 8 years. First time, I did not manage to even hit the 2h mark, so boring and uninteresting.
This time I'm probably 1h in and it is aggressively boring. Feels like some crap walking sim. Reminds me actually of one of the worst games I have ever played, Soma.
I'll try to reach 3h...
If not the search continues for another great game in the genre...
Prey was awesome, I really like Arkane games and first person immersive sims. Too bad theyre creating some vampire bs right now :(
Try to keep playing until you get guns and start fighting androids at least. Alien Isolation is indeed a Resi type survival horror game and not an Amnesia/Outlast type survival horror game.
