Why did they reduce the gore, blood?
There are comparison videos and those things are clearly reduced... in a horror game :steamfacepalm:

Yeah, horror games were always about blood and gore and not about tension, despair and fear of unknown etc. Damn EA

The entire theme of the monsters is that your own body is torn apart to create them... Dead Space is definitely about the blood and gore, because it is ultra-violent Body Horror.

1) You didn't answer the question.

2) Yes, blood and gore are pretty central to Dead Space (note the first word there) considering it is a body horror based horror game that involves literal dismemberment as a pivotal mechanic.

So let me guess, your defense is going to be "I was just pretending to be stupid"?

Blood was reduced? It was added, just pay attention when enemies grab you, see this fancy cool blood around your screen? Gore was reduced? You literally can strip monsters of their flesh, layer by layer. Nothing like that in the original Dead Space

Blood effects being "splashed on the camera", which shouldn't exist in a game based around a diegetic interface, does not equal "more blood." Show me the blood and gore in the actual gameworld and I'll believe you. Until then, all I've seen is some ragdolled corpses with some red paint mapped to their surface area.

...blood splashing on the camera of a 3rd person view? That's immersive as ♥♥♥♥. Groundbreaking ♥♥♥♥ there, EA.

Ya it is just like in the real world!
You see when ever dirt, mud, dust, blood of infants or, water splashes in my eyes I am not actually blinded by it!
Instead the person viewing me in third person is the only one to see these on their screen leaving me unaffected in my first person state. :lunar2019coolpig:

the days of the 90s where you splatter blood all over the place to say "this is a horror game" is over :P Now it needs to have a bit meaning and can't be distributed evenly, and everywhere. It also tells a story, and it'll be worse in some places, not in others, because when you follow the lore of the story, there's simply some places where there were less encounters than other.

It's the same story with "where is there so much fog in the morgue", well peeps that has a reason, because where there are bodies there's initial corruption forming.

They are thinking about the themes now.
Blood/gore decals are much different then they used to be. Things are trying to be more grounded in realism and it might give the effect of reduced gore, but it's essentially devs trying to take a more real world approach to how blood splatters and limbs behave.

Anyone remember Sodier of Fortune 2? Holy balls that game blew my balls off at the time and it felt ever so satisfying seeing their heads "pop" and arms/legs tear and spray.

Give us Kill Bill type of "over the top" blood everywhere and mix it with dead space style mechanics. Oh what you could of been Calypso.

Is this just trolling or. . . If you want to know what a remake that ruins the atmosphere of a game looks like, go play the Halo 2 flood levels and look at how much the lighting messed up the atmosphere.

You're quite literally saying that about one of the best horror games, in which relied heavily on blood and gore. So yeah, horror games have, indeed, always been about the blood and gore. All the way back into the early 90s with games like Doom, Quake, etc. It's the atmosphere, followed by the tension, followed by the blood and gore. They all go hand in hand and always have.
