Why Kendra Daniels has gone chinese and all other characters and DIALOGUES changes??
I mean, I have seen the original (original without any modding looked like in those videos, not if you modded it, but AA problems were always there, een worse in DS2) vs "remake" and I don't understand changes in DIALOGUES and character models... WHY? "Race" and appearance have been changed, some videodata collected are now gone to "holograms"... why all these changes??

If you go and watch the imdb page of Tonatzin Carmello it has to be quite clear that she didn't have time in her schedule to do months of mocap and voice over work, she's like in 5 films and series at the same time, and just started a second season of a tv series. Just did undone season 2 as well. I mean, this change is just because another actress has to stand in for the role.
I don't understand why have to change the dialogues and vpiceovers... it is just the same game. And even if they would "add" new content and needed to be voices, 3D character model does not need to be changed... I say this because some "games" reworked from othes, like Black Mesa (yes, I know it started as a mod) addedonly the English voices (I don't remember if they added new lines, etc.) but other HL1 original dubbings in other languages were not used nor added... and I don't understand why not using ORIGINAL voices for different languages and why would be needed new full sessions for other languages. Also, and due to this, I don't understand the 60€ price as full new game being a rework (they just needed to add more nodes modles, newer animations and textures created using a modern engine...).

well you make it sound easy. So do it and then sell it at a low price. You've got the whole business model figured out. Now promise us a release date and commit to a roadmap

To make a remake of a full game into a newer video engine IS easy for a videogame studio. It is nothing more than what I said. I have not followed this one so I just watched a video comparison (the "official one") and I saw a lot of nonsense and useless changes, one of the more obvious, new voices... why?? And I see there are more languages so I don't know if other languages will be using OLD voices from original or newer ones. I mean: fully dubbing it all for all the listed languages increases price, price for something NOT needed, unless you are adding new areas/missions.

Also, no need to change models, just add more polygons/nodes. They added more detail to Isaak's suit, but it is THE SAME. You cannot say that of the character models, none have the same. They ahve not improved, have been just replaced by "what cannot be said due to censorship".

And no, I am not "canceling any preorder", I would be mad if I was preordering, to be starting, and to be buying day-1 game remake at a full new game price. And after seeing what I am seeing... just add textures with retexture and try to use the old AA methods (using nowadays GPUs you can downscale using DSR and use forced SGSSAA 8x easily) and original game looks quite well (real problem is with 2nd... no way to properly get rid of aliasing).

I have read a bit and with this you can tell these people are NOT making a remake, they are using a previous game as hook to make what they would no be brave to do using their own original idea (well, they do matter nothing, the editor and publisher's):

It's like if I say "we wanted to make a theatre play and we were asking why would the author make them do thi? I don't like what author makes the character do, so I change it". But then they use same play title and call it "remake". It is a "reimagined"/"modificated on our own" title. Like if you say you are going to see a live action Bethelem in CHristmas and see a satanic slaughter and then say, well, I dodn't like the "original" (real) story and "characters" and we changed all, but, hey, we kept calling it the same to hook some ones.

From what I've read about the "needed to change" parts this is basically the Dead Space version of the hatchet job they did to Terry Pratchett's The Watch.

Jo: This is a full revamp of the script, since having Isaac speak changes the dynamic of every scene and conversation that he’s a part of. One of the other goals was to bring in pieces of lore from the surrounding series and make it feel like one consistent piece of storytelling. There’s also a lot of great info in the post-game text logs, and we figured, since we know this info won’t show up in Dead Space 2 or 3, let’s work those into the story now. There were some overall character dynamics that needed to change and what we felt like were some missed opportunities from the original game, meaning things that they just weren’t able to implement into the story or scenes because the game development technology wasn’t quite able to support it back then.

Just more weird woke sh!t.
Wow, I missed that one, l'Original, so now Isaac does not speak... it's "too offensive" to hear a white normal ("straight") man talking... because what is the meaning of the "changes the dynamic of every scene and conversation that he’s a part of". That's as bad or worse than the other characters's chances, because affects the main one.

I'm curious what the interviewer thought was "dry or outdated by modern standards" when it came to the dialogue in the original because he doesn't elaborate.
