If you have head tracking performance or laggy link stream issues with quest you need to opt into the steamvr beta. This solves it. If youre on windows 11 you should also disable Link Sharpening in the Oculus debug tool to get the Link stream working without frame drops. Dont forget to disable FSR !!! and just use TAA or TAA + Fidelity FX CAS and 16x AA to get the washed out distance view away. Following this settings iam playing it in VR with 6900xt and ultra high preset without problems, theres no difference compared to ams 2 or similar VR games.

Beta did not fix it for me. I have a solid 90 FPS with plenty of overhead but the lag where the image lags behind your head movements is still always there.

Yep, same situation for me

None of these tweaks and tricks and placebo fixes are going to work.

yeah, i have spent a couple hours disconnecting every USB device, switching USB ports, disconnecting 2nd monitor, turning off all other software (GHUB), steam beta, turn off AO, all low settings, none of it worked for me. I think most saying it is fix had FPS issues they fixed, this is some bugged tracking issue, my FPS is fine.
Awful VR experience because there is no option to lock the camera to the horizon. The basic VR feature is not here.

have you disabled link sharpening in the oculus debug tool ?
No setting anywhere will fix the head movement - this is clearly a coding issue.

I just went back to play some AMS2 in VR after a few days of playing F1 22.

Wooow, does it really make you appreciate how good AMS2 is in VR. So sharp and clear and runs beautifully. it's night and day to this.

F1 22 needs some serious work done on the VR implementation to get up to par.

If any of you guys are just getting into sim racing in VR, do yourself a favour and pick up Automobilista 2. It will blow you away.

for me its the complete opposite. I had to install third party openxr stuff, tweaked settings and so on to make ams 2 run decent.

F1 22 runs without any problems and 90 fps locked on high settings with 160% steam SS.

Im running a reverb g1 + 6900xt.

I think its not easy for the developers to make a VR Game run on every system, especially low end rigs. Just look at ACC, its the worst VR Game that i ever played.

That's crazy. Is this recently or back when it first released?

I've only just started sim racing in the last 3 months and AMS2 has been the best VR experience out of the few games I bought. PC2 and AC are also very good.

Agreed with ACC, it's a massive pain to get it dialled in for VR. The driving is very fun though.
Fishing for steam points I see.
Has this been fixed recently? Because I just got it in the 35% off sale and tried it in VR this afternoon, I've still got the Original HTC Vive (still waiting for a VR headset im happy to upgrade to) all i did was plugged in headset loaded up and played and it ran so sweet no probs here, it played really smooth, loved the experience, found it so much better in VR with the vibration from the wheel and peddles mixed with the VR I accually founded it much easier, I could really feel the car, to be able to look around and Judge the track much easier and was great to see the other cars right beside, no sickness which i tend to get from games where you move in VR and not in real.
Maybe its just me lol :steamhappy:

btw all im running is: i7 9900ks and a 2070 super

They've cleaned up the performance for sure, I can get it to run at 70Hz VR High with DLSS on a 3080Ti - but SteamVR keeps crashing. It might be my system, but no other game seems to do that so...

But yes, at least some effort appears to have been put in, because at launch it was quite literally unplayable in VR.
Well I'm glad i waited for sale, cos im finding no probs my end and i got it cheaper :steamhappy:
Never preorder.. let people like me waste my money first :D
yeah fair, its blurry as ♥♥♥♥ but i think now it works enough that you can't refund it
