VR Help with Quest 2?
I've seen people being able to use the Quest 2, but my game is saying only the Rift/Vive are compatible. Tried Air and Oculus Link with no luck. Am I dumb and the Quest 2 just won't work or am I missing something? Thanks!

I don't have that (but could get it easily), is that the only way it will work? I have another friend who can't access VR from his Quest 2 either using Air/Oculus Link

As far as SteamVR is concerned, the Quest/2 is Rift compatible. Just make sure you launch from Steam itself, and make sure BEFORE you do this, you put the Quest into Rift mode (using airlink or a compatible USB C Cable. Or use Virtual Desktop (wireless options assume you have a decent Wifi 6 capable router - if not, don't bother...).

Ok making progress, I got it to load and everything on my PC, but through my headset it is just black screen with 3 dots and not showing any display (still has sound, tho)

You have to launch the game through steam vr in the headset. Also make sure you update your drivers I could launch the game but not play it till I updated my nvidia drivers. In the settings menu the quest 2 is recognized as the headset, so it is fully supported.

If your using a laptop? If so you need to make sure that steamvr is using your GPU and the Oculus app needs to be set to integrated graphics.

How do I get my Quest 2 into Rift mode?

"Rift Mode" just means it's currently using Oculus Link.

Here's some ideas from things I learned in the past (and recently)

If you don't actually install and run SteamVR, any games that don't have "Oculus VR Mode" (such as Dirt Rally 2.0), will still launch and give the option for "Launch in Steam VR Mode" but never display on the headset and they will come up on the monitor not responding to HMD inputs. It was the same for a few other games like IL2-Sturmovik. Once you simply install and SteamVR, and have Link active, it will transfer the signal to the headset. If all that's good and it still doesn't work, perhaps try factory resetting your headset using your mobile device (which I believe MIGHT require require a developer account, which is free and available to all). "ODH" or Oculus Developer Hub is another app like the Rift store that will make Link available to your PC and this may also be something that helps.

wtf are you talking about, Dirt Rally 2.0 DOES use oculus API.. you dont need steamvr for dirt rally 2.0. launch command is -oculus
rocket science.

I am able to launch the game in my headset but it comes up as a flatscreen game as if I’m just watching it in a big screen. It’s basically stops after the video intro where it says “ press any button” to start the game but my Xbox controller doesn’t respond or my touch controller . I’m just stuck there

I really want to be able to play this in VR
