Fortune's Run

Fortune's Run

THE GAME IS GOOD BUT
You better save often.

I mean this with praise, but if anyone is playing this game and having a hard time... you better save scum.

This game really takes a lot of focus and being in the zone. Playing it in one playthrough without playing any other games is recommended. This is not a casual game to jump in and out of.

It frustrated me to no end, but what I find here is truly a take your time and look around before acting game.

I see it gets a lot of flack for not being a truly immersive sim, but I beg to differ. Each few minutes feels like an accomplishment and if you are having a hard time, spam that F5.

Rant over. Im impressed from its evolution from the demo. Good job devs

I was able to sneak around on some ladders, blow up a turret power source, beat the heck out of the guy who came to investigate with my fists and foot, and then ran to go cook myself some ramen and was treated to a very nicely rendered sprite of a tasty bowl of ramen.

What more can you ask for from an immersive sim?

Also I immediately saved afterwards and titled it "just ate ramen"... as I was alt F4ing, i heard a door open nearby and I guffawed. I wonder what hijinks Ill be met with when I reload that save....

Im really into it man. At first, after playing the demo over and over... playing this had my eyebrows raised... but I kept going and actually paying attention and getting immersed...

bruh Im hooked. Im gonna finish this beginning area soon and then Im just gonna wait til the game is finished cuz I think its a great game. This is why I play indie games. For uncompromising vision and passion. (i went to add it to my group recommendations but found I had already recommended the demo lol

"OH HELL YEAH!! This is the Cyberpunk we asked for. This actually has a very complex and involved combat system and a true immersive sim. Im very excited for its release!!" - June 2023)

^^ I understand the urge to want to wait but I recommend that you at least try the next update, we are adding so much stuff. For example stealth enemy behaviors now are much more challenging, with the AI having squad leaders that can reinforce patrols and call searches when they suspect the presence of a player!

my interest is piqued! When do you think this new update may come?

Perhaps Ill wait til the update and experience the whole thing over, and stop now

Also... for me, its not lost on me how the beginning is a prisoner being sprung for a larger cause... a la Morrowind or many other great RPGs... I think alot of people are projecting what THEY want out of the game and not accepting it as it is...

Ive loved it since the first demo... (when I saw the game release a while back, I just bought it, but never played it til today... I was shocked and then hooked... theres nothing really like this out there) and I am still enjoying it now. Is there some jank? mayhaps... it happens when a lot of stuff is happening at once.

I find it really is on the player to press the right buttons at the right time.. what some call "skill based" gameplay. I respect that. I think the accessibility options are very generous as well...

I play alot of indie and I love Star Wars and today it just hit me right in the feels.

I really like what you made here. And I respect your steadfast adherence to your vision.

Enough boot licking. What the hell am I supposed to do with these crayons?!! WORST GAME ITEM EVER! 0/10

We were going to release in July originally but I'm wanting to delay to August I think. We made a trailer for Zlimbratski ^^ Should be on his stream within the next few days. When he airs it I'll make it available on YouTube and post a more specific date for the release.

We are also big Morrowind fans, unrelatedly.

I picked up the game the other day, and I figure you'd probably know best; do you think I should wait until that update comes out before I give it an in-depth shot? I've got plenty of other stuff I can play in the interim so it wouldn't offend me greatly if the answer was yes.

It's really up to you, we originally wanted to make each level pretty much 100% final on release but since then we already have changed a billion things, for example the AI is completely re-worked in the latest and it's going to really change how the game plays. Personally I would play both, 'cause I think it's fun to see the evolution, but if you're the kind of person who only wants to play things once, waiting might be good!
