PvE or bust

I like just about everything currently in the game, except the part that is PvP only.

I would like to see a proper, fully fleshed out PvE Co-op game mode with story and all that fun stuff. The background lore is already there, now it's just a matter of expanding upon it.

And before any wisecrack says "isn't skirmish a pve mode"
No, stop it, it is not.

Skirmish is the same battle royale as the main game. It is just a practice mode against bots who only stand there and let you kill them while only barely fighting back. It might as well be a shooting gallery. Just like how TF2 is not PvE when you play against bots in 2fort, Skirmish mode here is not PvE either.

No, give me a proper raid mode where I can take down that titan thing in an epic boss battle.
Give me a wave-based defense or survival mission against hordes increasingly boosted AI Hunters and drones.
Give me a mode where me and a buddy can go around the map capturing AI controlled strongholds, and after all have been captured it ends in a showdown against a titan or two.
Give me a mode where me and a buddy infiltrate an enemy stronghold, do a thing (steal something or plant an explosive or kill a VIP) and then fight our way out to safety.

I always want a PVE mode in games because often the PvP boils down to who has the better net and who had the faster monitor. That said have you tried Mechwarrior Clans? It has most of what you are asking for with PVE.

A PvE mode would actually bring in a lot more people and potentially keep the game alive much longer. Doubtful they will make a PvE mode, but it would be nice.

While not in the same scope as this game, there is a PvE mode launching with Mecha Break when it comes out

A PvE mode would be delightful. I'm a big fan of the non-humanoid mech designs you can choose from in this game, but I absolutely do not play competitive games under any circumstance; PvE will be mandatory to get me on board.

And yet one of the most legendary, genre-defining shooter game series of all time when it first appeared has both an amazing story experience for PvE players and also a fully realized and fleshed out PvP mode.

Any idea what series that could be?

A very hyperbolic analogy since LoL has no similarities to a city sim at all, whereas adding PvE to a PvP game would retain the same framework and largely the same gameplay. I will admit, however, that hoping for PvE from a Wargaming.net game is wishful thinking.

its really drop the battle royal or bust. It wont survive in the over saturated marked of BR. Needed to make world of tanks but the mech version.

it's more like "practice vs AI"... just... very short and not very satisfying...

I want to agree, but my friend and I have been struggling to find a Starfall Harvest match and Skirmish was just a very poor substitute.. it's just a sweep-up...
