hold interact button for 1.5 seconds to pick up 1 item

best way to describe this is Mobile game AD vs Mobile game actual gameplay

I actually have to agree with Dima. I got into it after being all hyped up for a new mecha game. Armored core 6 was awesome, Mechabreak was awesome despite worries of potential p2w being slipped in at launch. This... This feels like a unresponsive 3rd person shooter like overwatch but the worse version your mother bought called "Overwatchers" when you were twelve. The robots feel clunky but not the "Good" kind of clunky, You're just a dude running with a gun unless your a monster robot. In that case your a dog with a shoulder mounted gun.
The trailer made it look good, but the gameplay felt stale.

Just go look at gameplay from mechabreak; Any of the armored core games even the ones from playstation era; Most of the mech assault games; Strike Suit zero/infinity. They all feel like they have a clunkyness to them as if you're in a 20 feet tall death machine instead of feeling like a clunky first person shooter in a toybox. They also feel like they're armed like one would expect a 20 feet tall death machine to be armed. Multiple armaments, a healthy clunkiness that is tied to your weight.

In short if you increased the responsiveness and changed the robot skin to a human. I bet most people wouldn't even realize it was suppose to be a mecha/robot game in the first place.

I played 1 round of this and it felt like whiplash from what I expected and what I got. My friends had to convince me to keep playing it.

I come from Chromehounds so i like the slow mechs over the anime fast mechs from armored core.

Agree that it didnt feel great to control the mechs, but what im mostly disappointing with is the Gametype, its another "modern" Battle Royal with (except Razorback) Neat mech designs and very little of anything to make it unique aside from "but its mechs"
I feel abit sorry for the Mech designers that there work ended up in such a game.
As for gameplay, its boring as hell, but this might just be me.
Looting Balls, Squares and Triangles better be a Placeholder because damn is it dumb.
Abilities felt lacking too, They dont hit all to well, then again i didnt use all the mechs so maybe one of them "felt" alright.
The super Mech transformation needs to go, it was boring to use.

Just my two cent of course, since its alpha i hope they do a different game out of there assets instead while they can.

Edit: i will say, Animation was nice on most of the mechs! thats probably something i can say i was happy about, same with some sound effects.

game felt fine to me. its a sorta mix of fast and slow where you need to be somewhat tactical in engagements so you can retreat if need be.

the mechanics of the game play around this and if you are not aware of that you can easily find yourself feeling like you were powerless or died too fast or something when reality is it's a skill issue.

hour long video of my own gameplay on last day of demo on level22 fenris
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e24_HDWLoKA

edit:
its basically an area hero shooter. the br elements serve to concentrate players around towers that can give upgrade items or consumables etc. 6 teams of 2 on appropriately sized maps made it so action was coming sooner rather than later (unless youre playing pve).

my only criticism is the power of a fully upgraded high level hunter kind of forces them to separate matchmaking by level, which splits pop and increases queue time for high level players. It makes sense balance wise, but is less fun for me personally as higher level.

also heartbreaker was OP in damage and its invisible run last too long

free to play from the looks of it, online based, probably would have been loaded with microtransactions, no wonder its dead

I love when people dislike a game so they wish it to be a failure in general. Just because they have a trash personality and empty life.

The game isn't even out yet and playing it required an invite too. But yeah sure the game died. lol
Ngl doesn't matter how good the game actually is, Wargaming will likely kill it with monetization on full launch. They will somehow figure out to sell completely broken premium items and never nerf them so that people who don't open loot boxes or some ♥♥♥♥ will be at a large inherent disadvantage.

That's why i hate F2P games. Not only wargaming ones. I rather pay for a game to be able to play it but doesn't have P2W aspect. (sadly it is more and more rare nowadays)

But for some strange reason wargaming games are popular even with the crap monetization. The gamers themselves killed the gaming industry.

There's few polished, decent graphic let alone multiplayer naval games like world of warships, the only alternative for tank and airplane games that have a good mix of arcady and sim mechanics with decent polish and graphics is from a equally greedy company. There's a few more options when it comes to mecha games, I'm personally hyped for mechabreakers hopping they won't ♥♥♥♥ it up with too much greed... While mecha games have some single player options the multiplayer realm is pretty limited too.

It's more like they cornered the market and those who seek to challenge it push equally greedy and unfriendly mechanics.
Like look at Navy War: Battleship Games, it's graphics are worse, it feels like a mobile game and the monetization is just as aggressive. They know they cornered the market and as long as all the newcomers are equally greedy then they have little to worry about. What are the players going to do? Go play that game that doesn't exist?

Yeah, I played World of Tanks for about a decade, you have Wargaming and Gaijin are about your only choices for naval or tank gameplay. So neither company actually has to worry about charging for overpowered items if they put them in because where are people going to go? That said at least with mech games there are some other choices for buyable games. Mech Warrior, Armored Core and some of the Gundam games are good with fun Multiplayer. I just have no faith whatsoever that Wargaming can keep from ramping this game up to maximum monetization without a care for actual balance.
