Custom Uniform Name Issue
Entering the name for a custom uniform and I got an error message that "profanity is not allowed". I discovered that the "offensive" word is "white".
Please tell me this was a mistake. Please tell you all haven't gone that woke

Noticed same thing, I wonder why White(It's even typical last name)... Anyway I tested it more you can't create either Dickson(Typical last name), Dickinson(Typical last name) or ♥♥♥♥(first name), because of word ♥♥♥♥, no Hitchcock(Typical last name), because of ♥♥♥♥... This kind of profanity filter is insane anyway. Game is worldwide and every languages have their own words to things and names include words what are some "bad" to another language. So my opinion is take profanity filter off this game or this goes stupidity. You can't put your own name to game, because it's brutal :D

My name is Mykal and short names for me are Mikey and Micky, both flagged as profanity by MF... absolutely ridiculous

I also noticed I can't use Marshawn Lynch...This has to be tamed for real!!!!!

I've tried not to complain about the game... I have really enjoyed playing it so far. All I have really done is recreate the D1 College teams (Have not played a game yet) and won't until I finish all the teams. But there are a couple things that have bothered me. One is the length of field for name inputs. In most cases I have fallen just a letter or two short. For example "Thundering Herd" I had to list them as "Thunder'n Herd". Secondly, for some reason when changing the name from the "Wyoming Gophers" to the "Wyoming Cowboys" the team name on the front of the jersey still reads "Gophers" and will not change to "Cowboys". My work around for this is to just leave the name off the front of that teams Jersey. My third and final complaint is like the others in this discussion. I made the Sou,,,th Carolina Gamecocks only I am going to have to change the name to Roosters or something else, because it will not allow "Gamecocks". Surely the filter could be allowed to accept "Gamecocks" if it is spelled out and formatted the exact same as the actual team.... right? Otherwise, no complaints from me... I love the game. It is exactly what I have been waiting for since the day of "Front Page Sports football. Thank you!

Okay... I went with Gamewood instead of Gamecocks. Would still rather have the original name for South Carolina.

....and I can't have the University of Virginia, West Virginia, Virginia Tech because they all contain the word "virgin" in the name? Come on man! lol

I don't see what it matters what someone names their teams. Can't you allow any name to e used in personal offline leagues and alleviate the issues above for those who are trying to legitimately name teams without being vulgar? Limit vulgar team names from entering the online game play instead. I understand what you are trying to do, but it has created problems for the rest of us.

I have figured out a way to get around the "Profanity" glitch (as I call it). Here is a list of teams that I have encountered that it will not let you enter. For player names, you can do the same thing. I will list the name I want to call it and the name I called it...

Virginia Cavaliers Vir ginia Cavaliers
West Virginia West Vir ginia
Virginia Tech Vir ginia Tech
WF Demon Deacons WF Dem on Deacons (not sure why Demon is considered profanity)
SC Gamecocks SC Gameco cks

I threw a space in the middle of the word that is considered profanity. It's not perfect but it works. You have to break it up with something. A space, a period, anything... a hyphen.

I think the profanity filter should be an optional setting. Kinda like on fps you can turn on or off gore, blood, etc. Plus my team name would be frowned upon in this modern day censorship.

I bet if i try and create a team from my axis , and old old maxium football , the name might not go . San Francisco Tinkerbell`s . The logo had tinkerbell in it

Another work around is, any banned names that have an o in it, just convert the o to a zero. It looks just like an o.

Nice! The zero looks different in the typed version but not the view outside of where the input is made. Never would have spotted that without trying it after lastorganicprey made mention of it.

The profanity filter definitely has some issues. It rejected Sacramento as a university name
Alliehotass Nov 28, 2024 @ 5:22pm
I typed in "Oakland" and got this same Message, Profanity?? WHERE?

I typed "Lozano", a spanish surname and... Profanity!
This must be fixed.
