The base game furies are shown in the ability -> attack tab, the additive comes only from gear (flametiger equipment, certain enchants available even later in the game), applied fury type is skill damage type dependent (they raise certain damage type). Higher than 1 DEF or MDEF are required for them to do anything, they have very slow scaling with DEF/MDEF. Both do approximately nothing in SDs (they come before the log10).
SD furies are shown in the ability -> main tab, the additive comes only from upgrade 1 tab of SD improvements, they work only in SDs, they both raise SD damage multiplier so you want to raise both for every skill. They use After DEF/MDEF instead of DEF/MDEF the normal furies use, the remainder after the log10 in SDs doesn't count. It has to be the after stats (you want both After DEF and After MDEF to be above 1).
