1. Edit your defaultAIsettings.ini file to your liking.
2. Place the file Ground Branch\GroundBranch\Config directory.
3. Click on "Lone Wolf".
4. Click on "Advance AI Settings".
5. Notice the settings are at default. No change to settings.
6. For lone wolf you must edit the settings. They do not keep.
7. Go back to the main screen, and host a game.
8. Click on "Advance AI settings".
9. Notice the settings. They are what you loaded in the defaultAIsettings.ini file.
So a couple things...
1. Lone wolf doesn't retain custom AI.
2. Play game as a hosted match to use custom AI.
I don't play lone wolf anyway even in SP. I use host game so I don't have to go all the way out the main menu to change maps. And I get more functionality with a hosted game.
You're not crazy. I don't know why it doesn't retain custom AI settings in Lone wolf mode.
To be clear- I don't ever play lone wolf... I'm talking specifically about going to "host match" and then from there going to advanced AI. The defaultAIsettings file does retain the changes. This is actually a bit weird since I'd expect that if I change settings in game that it would port it back to that file. Or, similarly if I change settings in that file I'd expect it to port over to the game which it doesn't.
So yeah the hunt continues. Appreciate that you keep coming back to try and steer me straight.
They are all going to change with the integration of Kythera framework.
Hopefully sooner than later.
Fine. I’ll drop it. But this ass in the tub AI is a huge X on the game and making the customization this finicky between now and whenever the new AI is rolled out in however many months is a massive pita.
This is why most default values are stored in the UI itself.
This means that any changes you make to the DefaultAISettings.ini will probably not be shown in the UI when you reset it.
