Does the GB AI use a bloatbox system?
I see a lot of posts complaining that the AI lasers in and one-shots people before they have a chance to do anything. Most games I am familiar with use a system where the "bloatbox" or area on and around the player that the AI can fire within starts out a fair bit larger than the player, then over time narrows down. This gives the impression that the AI panic fires at first, which both gives the player time to respond, and feels realistic enough to be fun. Typically it starts out much larger at long distances and in darkness/smoke as well. I'm curious if GB uses this or a different type of system.

Yes it has that system. If you play on untrained and trained it’s pretty obvious but on higher difficulties like experienced and veteran that box shrinks very quickly. It’s also determined on distance so in CQB it can be very lethal.

Are the values possible to edit? I don't think I will until the AI is updated to a point you guys feel more comfortable with, but in the long-term it is something I might adjust if I'm able. I play on controller so even on Untrained I still get bwoinked from time-to-time due to the difference in time-on-target from m/k.

I think it is something we can expose at some point, I’ll talk to our AI programmer.

Thanks! Would be a nice-to-have, but in the meantime I'll look into the other settings. Thanks for your time

There is a setting for Custom difficulty ,

which you can edit in game.
Also I found it exists here for me ,so it can be text edited too-
AISettings.ini
located
C:\Users\MY NAME\AppData\Local\GroundBranch\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

My settings in text file ,I am sure this should suit using a controller ;
I play with lots of enemy Bots and they are not the smartest using my settings.

[SkillLevel@Custom]
ReactionTimeBase=0.600000
MaxTurnRate=75.000000
MaxHeadLookRate=110.000000
MaxSemiAutoBurst=2
MinDelayBetweenBursts=3.000000
MaxDelayBetweenBursts=6.000000
LeanChance=0.200000
RecoilCompensationSkill=0.150000
DeliberateMissTime=1.000000
AlertHearingThreshold=50.000000
MaxSprintTurnRate=60.000000
OnTargetThreshold=20.000000
DeliberateMissDistanceThreshold=1300.000000
IdleHearingThreshold=60.000000
AlertSuspicionSightThreshold=0.600000
IdleAffiliationSightThreshold=3.000000
MinFullAutoBurst=5
MaxFullAutoBurst=10
CenterOfMassBone=pelvis
SuppressionRecoveryRate=0.050000
MaxTimeDeviation=10.000000
MaxTimeOnTarget=30.000000
MaxDistanceDeviation=30.000000

When you start your T Hunt or your other game mode -
pick Custom AI rather than your existing choice of Untrained.

Not sure if they are all still relevant.
