First person View Model customization or possible adjustments?
Hey there, I've tried Ground Branch and I like it quite a bit but one thing that really makes me uncomfortable when playing it is the first person view model when point shooting.
I really dislike my gun being at the bottom of my screen as if my character is hipfiring the gun like Rambo with the M60. I prefer it more like Arma, Escape From Tarkov or even Call of Duty for that matter. Are there any plans for adjusting the first person view or letting us customize it?

As we rework the character rig and poses, the Ready stance will most likely change a bit and be made a little less relaxed, so the weapon will probably be brought up a little more.

One useful tip for now is that you can change the Eye Bias under Settings > Video. The Eye Bias setting consists of a slider that can position the player camera anywhere from the right eye (default; weapon appears more centered) to the middle of the two eyes (weapon appears more shifted to the right, similar to the more traditional FPS perspective).

Does that mean that the characters are actually firing from the hip when not aiming? Because when I shoulder my rifle IRL in the ready position it looks a lot more like the view in Arma/Tarkov than it does in this game. For me to see the rifle IRL the way it is in Ground Branch i would have to put the stock under my armpit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: Also, Arma has true first person too but it looks a lot better.

After experimenting with my MP5 replica, it seems like how it is in game is realistic.

This is with the camera placed directly in front of my eyes with the weapon shouldered:

This is with the camera at my chin:

I think Arma and other games with true first person just put the camera in the middle of the head, instead of actually at the eyes, but in Ground Branch it is placed exactly where the eyes are. It looks a lot different in real life because of peripheral vision and also having two eyes. But with a camera in real life, it appears similar to in game in here. Maybe they could give us an option to lower the camera to our in game chin if we want (since it wouldn't give any advantage)

Though like I said, it's still likely to change.

Use mouse wheel to change the player stance...

the character isn't hip-firing. just go into debug mode and look how he holds the weapon, it's shouldered

It looks fine to me. Your cheek isn't on the stock, you wouldn't be seeing that much of the rifle. It could be raised a little bit, but not drastically.
I use a pretty high FOV.

Thanks for the reply Scopey. Hopefully it will be more traditional at some point, the game is doing well and keeps getting better and better.

if you don't mind, please explain what's so great about the "more traditional" way? it's objectively worse, because it: blocks out more of the screen, does not conform to how human vision works in real life, makes it harder to shoot without aiming down the sights accurately etc.

so there must be something I'm missing.
