All in all seems kind of barely working & unfriendly, but once it works - it works great.
If all else failed - after doing the above - for all of our guys it worked they've been on a closed off game and then tried joining via Steam Friends. Then it throws up the prompt when launching about custom launch parameters and when they accepted everything worked.
Weird as hell, but the important thing is, we killed tangos using XM7 and LWRC today.
Thats why I will remain mod free. I dont need the hassle.
As FIRST verrsions tend to be. When ironed out and mostly automated, there'll be no hassle nor excuses left for vanilla purists like you. OHD have proven that.
Both ARMA 3, Ready or Not and this proves that if you know what you're doing (and \ or what admin of the server you wanna play on is doing) it's easy as sunday morning Jon.
upd.
we did the same thing discussed up here
Add a MODS directory in your C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Ground Branch\GroundBranch\Content\Paks\Nexus Mods
Unzip the downloaded files and put them here. Makes cleaning much easier.
The way workshop works is as straight forward as can be, subscribe and you have a mod. Not sure what issues you've had with it in the past. It seems unwise to ignore the workshop in this situation. You'll never get real mods from nexus, the workshop is easy and integrated directly with the SDK for GB.
Not to mention that the mods and workshop are directly integrated with the game and server system in game. Servers can have workshop mods installed and players joining download them when joining the server. (that's what this topic is about)
