The roadmap does show single player campaigns as a goal, but it may be a while yet.
I'm also curious about Solo with AI team mates if I feel like playing alone.
So it seems the AI is smart?
dam i cannot wait for this.... give me a ghost recon replacement...
arma 3 and all its dlcs are crap imho, it's technology from 2 decades ago. and rather than make good use of their enfusion developments which they made available for a stupid zombie game rather than their flagship title, they're going to save it for arma 4 which will come out in 5 years if we're lucky.
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (2008) was, I think, the last game with good SP squad mechanics.
I agree with you. I love the realistic feel of guns, 1-hit deaths, methodical approach to objectives, etc. But for some stupid reason, these days such gameplay is associated with "clans", "community servers", "communicating" (meaning non-stop talking over a $5 distorted mic), "recruiting", etc. Some of us are not comfortable talking to total strangers over the microphone, specially since I'm not a native English speaker. I love working with my team and supporting my squad's tactics. I just don't see why do I need to hear 10 people screaming in my ear non-stop to achieve such gameplay.
"Tank around the corner!! Tank around the corner!! Shoot it!! Where's the AT??? Shoot the tank!!!! Take cover!!!! Throw smoke!!!!! Hahahahahah!!!! Wow THAT WAS CLOSE!!!!!!!!"
Dude. I'm not your friend ok.
Then another player from another squad showed up and started to tell me via local chat that they needed a radioman in another place. My squad chat was busy and I had this other guy also telling me a lot of information, and I'm not an English speaker. All I heard was noise. Finally I turned off the PC because my gameplay had been consisting of basically hearing strangers shout each other.
(It doesn't help that I'm 37 years old.)
