But you are not arresting anybody in this game like in Swat4. Every target gets killed. There are no camera wands or non leathal weapons.
Every month I search for games like these and still haven't found anything other than early access promises, dead projects or half baked mods
Ah gotcha. :( Ah well, hoping something eventually comes out in SWAT 4's vein.
You should check out these games btw. They're not like Swat4 but worth checking out.
* Flashing Lights - Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services Simulator
* Police Simulator: Patrol Officers
Zero Hour feels more like Swat 4. You shout at enemies to comply, arrest them, get penalized if you shoot surrendering or fleeing enemies. You pick up weapons from every neutralized enemy just like in Swat. You can repel and climb buildings, kick down doors, doors can have traps on them or be blocked with rng furniture changes or door stoppers. Enemies can have hostages. Missions are generally indoors in one single building and feel very Swat 4, it was a very very obvious inspiration. There are currently no non lethal weapons besides flashbangs. Weapons are all CQC at the moment and there are not too many, and the customization -while there is some- is very limited. All current maps are nighttime.
Ground Branch, so far, feels more like Rainbow Six 3 Ravenshield. You kill everything that moves. Locations are big and can be very open. The game also has sniper and marksman rifles to accompany this besides in general having a TON more weapons than ZH and they are much, much more customizable as well. Ground Branch has great mission customization too, you can change time of day for every map, you can set the numer of enemies and how dangerous they are in terrorist hunt, and you can customize your character with different clothes, camo and even faces.
Both games can be played coop or solo in pve. Ground Branch has more options to customize your experience and difficulty. Zero hour is just this is your mission deal with it, although enemy numbers, positions and inside furniture and traps are all rng. But difficulty and number of enemies is out of your control.
Both games are great and represent their pricetag in quality and quantity I think. Zero hour is really good. Ground Branch is really good and has a lot more substance.
Yeah I remember when it made it's first appearance on Steam. Its been pvp focus from the start.
It needs an internet connection just to play solo. That says it all right there. Solo play is an afterthough. They're just throwing solo players a bone. The game is about pvp.
Ground Branch is like a newer and better Rainbow Six Ravenshield.
PS - Without referencing RainbowSix cause they have never played it.
Ready or Not is dead lol. They've shadow pushed the game back so far and those who have had access to playing it, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trainwreck.
I support the game and I'm not saying that. Im glad it got pushed back. I supported the move too. I like their updates and newsletters. I like how they're going about their game development right now. I like their new team.
I'm not saying it's a guaranteed success. I'm sure it will have flaws just like any other game. But it's still being developed. It's not dead. The Beta drama that people keep holding on to happened like a year ago now
Game is far from dead. They recently signed up with a publisher and will be releasing the game into Early Access likely some point this year or early next.
