How do you setup your attachments?
Just curious how & where others are placing their attachments... i.e. foregrip placement, torch & laser, etc.

Wondering if there is an optimal position for certain attachments.

I think the biggest thing that matters is your optic placement.

If you're using CQB sights like the Holosight or Reddot, I suggest putting it maybe in the middle of the rifle. Closer if you feel the reticule is too small, further if you prefer more peripheral vision. All depends on the sight you use. Personally I prefer the Holosight.

For magnified optics though, I suggest putting it closer to you. You'll have a clearer view through the scope that way.

Besides that, I usually put a torch on the side rail, preferrably as close to the muzzle as possible to avoid my gun casting a shadow. I also put the PEQ-15 laser on the top rail, somewhat at the middle-front of the rail.

I place mine like I would in real life. Light on the left side rail, far forward to avoid casting shadows/maximize light effectiveness. Vertical grip if any is placed where I can use it as a handstop/thumb over bore grip while being able to press the light. My red dots are farther forward on the upper receiver for AR's. PEQ box is on top in most cases, or on right side and I pretend there are tape switches. Magnified optics just depends on what I'm doing, and offset dots are as far forward as I can get away with, with the other things like the PEQ on. It's meant as a backup close range thing, so faster target acquisition and red dot pickup that way.
Note, unless I'm running a dual optic setup, I ALWAYS have backup irons ingame even though it's useless, for now at least. One is none, two is one.
These setups also change depending on if it's a dedicated CQB gun, night op thing, that kind of stuff dictates how it's set up.

Does the position of underbarrel attachments (vertical grip, bipod, etc) have any effect on recoil in-game?

For instance if I put a vertical grip closer to the magazine rather than in the center or towards the end of the barrel, would this decrease / increase the overall recoil and handling?

Actually, I don't think so. From what I see, our operators don't even hold the grips we put on our rifles.

I don't think it's functioning properly yet.

That's correct. It's purely cosmetic right now. I don't think the player models even use the grips you can put on your weapon. Just a lack of animations. They will turn up in the game eventually.

Pretty sure for now there are no animations for forgrips etc and no functionality built in yet. These things will come with time. How long will it take.. no telling.
