FN FAL was, at a point, only second to the AKM as the most prolific rifle around the world. The chance of it being an OPFOR weapon is reasonably high and would justify it being in the game.
As for a retro M16, I'd argue the M16A1 would be about as justified as the FN FAL under the same context.
So on the point of story, there will be. There is a campaign planned.
Major Fret is correct here in that the FAL falls under the OPFOR weapons. Often when overseas operations are conducted in country weapons are used for plausible deniability. I agree that there's potential for the M16A1 as an OPFOR weapon but I don't think the team is planning to expand too much more on the OPFOR side. Like I said originally it's very likely that sort of weapon would be added in by modders once the modding tools are available with the full release so I'd keep an eye on the workshop once it's available.
a kind of joke. I was just pointing out it would be cool to have an A2 in game, and I am not the only one with this opinion.
If they do add workshop and modded guns I really hope they won't just be re-skins like Insurgency or at the very least find a way to make it so other players can see it. I was talking Scopey about the possibility of a P90 in the distant future and he said I'd have to wait for mods so I am hopeful this will be the case
