From here map the variable zoom to the mouse wheel and re map the ready stances to the side buttons on your mouse if you have them. This way you can scroll between 1x all the way to 8x giving you a snooth transition
Better... hmph...
2) that's not at all what this game is going for
3) I hate that
4) it's really weird that you chose Breakpoint as an example; that exists in almost every FPS
5) this game has free-aim off by default; that makes it incredibly easy to know exactly where you're going to zoom; you can no-scope or quick-scope people easily (learn to aim)
6) they already said that they're not going to do this, and that's a good thing
I just had trouble aiming with the current scope (ACOG), so that I have usually been using x1 scopes, such as Micro. I am an average player, not very skilled, but I sure do enjoy the realism.
PIP (Picture in Picture) scopes are the most realistic you can get for today. I hate the fact, that for example the arma 3 doesn't have that (there is a mod) having single render scope like you want are limiting your peripheral vision. All those REALISTIC shooters use them: Rising Storm 2, insurgency and insurgency sandstorm (disabled by default), tarkov.... GROUND BRANCH. What you asking dev's is to return to the stone age again :D
Sorry for my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ english.
My friend,
Siege, Sandstorm, Breakpoint and Day of Infamy, are not realistic by any stretch.
