Mk18's weren't around in 2006 I think and Mk18's itself are in the game.
That said, this feels like the sort of thing (additional content with minor differences and minor gameplay impact) that would be reasonably left to modders to fill in.

THIS
We dont need 100 types of Ar15s style guns when they are basically the same gun.
XD
Attempted Release? Check!
In this case, people could build weapons by themselves. You want an M4A1 carbine? It's already in the game. You want an M4A1 CQB? Well just change the M4A1's barrel into the shorter one and you have it. Devs wouldn't need to add 10 types of the same weapon, instead they could focus on more important things, or simply on other, new weapons and attachments.
Its sadly not that easy and it wont hapen as far as I know.
The GB modellers would have to redo every model just to fit another stock.
It has been requested alot of times but mods should take care of that once its officialy supported.
and btw modsupport is planned !
