game wont load new game
i click on new game and it just gets stuck. just fixed the end turn thing, all debug options on file are false apart from 2

Are you playing the steam version? You may need to disable the steam overlay or possibly do a computer restart if there's been a Steam client update.

theres been no update for steam, and how do i disable the steam overlay?

When you open the game, give it a few minutes before trying to start a new game or resume/load a game.
There appear to be some background files that aren't ready at the same time as the menu is, and proceeding causes the game to lock on a black screen at that point.

no black screen, it gets about 3/4 then just stops loading and wont go futher

If you open the steam client, under the menu option "Steam" you can choose "settings" and then "in-game". There's a toggle to turn off the steam overlay. In the past this has caused problems for myself.

Did you check to see if you had the folders as described in the link provided?

im running standard game mode. and i couldnt see any folders mentions from what i could understand

got it to load past main menu, but wont fully end a turn, even though end turn in debug is true

Try create a folder called "temp" in the SE5 directory. This seems to fix a number of people's issues.
