Looking for a reliable CD key gen for this game.
Played this game years ago when it was new. Loved the living ♥♥♥♥ out of it. Didn't put a CD drive in my new rig, so I've bought the game on steam, and the amount of ♥♥♥♥ I have to go through to supplement all the missing files in the steam version has dissillusioned me. So, now that I have a DVD drive through unrelated circumstances, I have lost the CD key for this game, and would like advice on where I can find a key generator without giving my computer the sniffles.

if you bought the game on steam there any reason that missing file must be complete! c what you want is just play the game without the CD key

the key generator No. or CD should be all over the internet, or else find the first version of the game box and make up a day, its more must listen so expensive now.

Already bought the game, like I said. but the missing files and extra ♥♥♥♥ I have to do ticks me off. If I have a perfectly working CD copy of the game that I don't have to modify to make it work, why not try and use it?

I bought it on Steam too. No files were missing.

I had multiple missing files. I've gone ahead and supplmented them, but it still confused me that there were missing components, even after multiple reinstallations

Really. Just which files are missing, and how do you know they're missing? Are they also missing on your perfectly working CD copy?

Not missing on the CD copy, but the game was unable to create the 'Temp' folder, utilities was missing, had to create folders for saved games, vehcile designs, maps, empires, really anything that needed saving. Had to change some stuff int he config to get the game to run, and then again to stop flickering, had to creat thew AI folder, the history folder, and the backup folder. I was also having the 'missing Steam.dll' error, and the only fix I could find was using the admin cmd to link the directories, but a desprate reinstall fixed that.

It's all working now, it was just a serious pain in the ass.

100% user error, the game installs just fine and even if it did not all you need to do is verify the game cashe and it would instantly fix any corrupted or missing files.

(I don't think that's really the problem here, do you?

Actually, I've owned Space Empires V for quite some time on steam and the last two times I installed it it had missing files. He's not just making this up. A lot of the save folders just don't exist and you have to create them yourself. I don't know if this is still true or not because I haven't reinstalled in a long time but at one point he was right. Still it's no where near as bif a chore as he's letting on. Just make some folders and you're good.

Yeah. Got it done. Turns out I was going about it WAY too complicated, and thought I was also missing a couple files that were instead just in different places, and thought would have to link steam.dll with the space empires stuff through admin cmd across different folders. It's been long enough to where I dont remember what I thought I had to do, but the real solution does basically ammount to making the correct folders. Thank you for being nice.
