Is there anyway to install this game on steam on an older patch? last time I played was many years ago and it worked fine... If I could install an old version and manually patch from the developers website maybe I could find the version that worked?
IIRC the last time I played was probably on 1.74, so maybe some feature added in 1.77 or .179 that changes the way memory or whatever works? is what breaks it for people on windows7? I've found dozens of posts about this but none of their solutions worked for me..
No, Steam doesn't allow using older versions of games.
Also, I doubt that SE5 was released on Steam before the last patch for it was released.
Then SE5 doesn't work well on versions of Windows other than 98 and XP anyway...
Still can't play the game. Can't get a refund on it. This would be fraud under any other system, Steam. It's like I bought a toaster from Walmart and then weeks later Walmart came and stole it from my house.
It's seriously made me rethink the ease and convenience factor of a cloud service delivering games when they can come down the line later and deliver some sort of DRM that renders the product inoperable.
