Using the two keys

as i turn them - they will not lock in place -- they just flip back to the original position

I have exactly the same issue. I've tried every combination of left/right first and left/right turn. Nothing works!

I clicked the right mouse button accidentally. I believe, this helt the first key in it's position because in this moment the first key was fixed.

I think this puzzle is easier to solve in the iPad-Version. The iPad-Version hast some advantages compared with the PC-Version. On the iPad you can use two fingers at the same time for some things. So you can zoom in and out the pictures in the camera in this way like any other picture on a touch screen. You can also turn them around freely. There are some puzzles where one or several pieces of paper must moved together on a table so that they fit in a special postion. On the PC the angle of the papers in relation to the edge table is fixed. You can move them up and down and to the left and to to the right, but you can't turn them, On the iPad this papers can be also turned around. You must find the correct angle additionally.

So I think in the iPad-Version it's easy to solve with using two fingers to touch both keys at the same time. But I'm not sure whether I'm patient enough to play the game again until to this point. Playing on the iPad is a littel bit enerving because of the reflections of the screen. For this reason I bought the game a second time in Steam on my PC, even it costs more money on Steam than in the Apple AppStore.

that was trial and error for me, but I did get it, not sure how...lol.

You can resolve this problem installing the second mouse holding left button on one key use your second mouse on second key I've done it it's working

I clicked and held, then moved over to the other, and clicked and held. (Seems to act as if you're "holding" the key in place.
