Though I would not say they are too easy or dumb but they can be exploited in the same way most AI can.
They are no where near as difficult as fighting the hardest AI in SF6 as a comparison though.
But they do a reasonably good job at emulating fighting a relatively decent player, so it really depends how good you are at this kind of game whether or not you will think they are easy.
I believe you can give them Item like buffs with things called "soul crystals" and I think there are challenges that use these and require specific win conditions and the likes. I dont really know much about the quality of these aspects of the game as I have yet to explore them but the options for such are there.
If you don't care about that stuff, then the game will be easy or average most of the time depending on who you go up against. Gimmicky characters like Yamamoto aren't played very well by the AI & they end up draining their reishi (life bar) which result in them getting killed faster.
Beating the AI on max difficulty in Versus Mode becomes a breeze once you play enough of the game.
For example AI Yamamoto is trash, it can't manage its own life bar because it plays too aggressively and imprecisely.
But with other characters, the AI handles abilities and distance well, so it offers a challenge.
Overall, much better than Sparking Zero which is dumb.
and then on top of that some how 3 star mission bot which should just be 5 feels more reactive then VS 5
It definitely sounds like it'll be too easy. I may try it out on a deep sale in the future.
Before hoping online for SF6, I definitely warm up with the Max level AI just fine as I think they're a decent challenge.
Games like Smash Ultimate's max level CPU or Rivals of Aether 2, are decent examples of challenges too. Virtua Fighter 5 has some classic old school AI challenge to it too for example and Killer Instinct 2013 has strong AI and the best Shadow/learning AI. Regardless of traditional, Arena, Platform fighter, w/e, definitely looking for that higher level of challenge to feel engaged (might frustrate others, but it is relaxing/stimulating for me).
Thanks again for keeping it real.
