When does the story get good?
Really struggling with the story pacing…I’ve quit this game about 3 times and come back to it years later.

I just recruited the shy orange hair girl and she’s been the best part of the game so far outside of the first palace.

I played and beat both Persona 4 and Persona 3 FES

This isn't worth the clown award it's clearly farming. Try again next time.

How about try answering the question instead of leaving a waste of time reply?

I’m asking if the pace of the game gets better, it feels like theirs no urgency in the plot outside of the first palace with the pdf file/suicide girl.

Persona 4 you always trying to save someone in the tv from dying (and even then you fail along the way a few times)

Persona 3 every month you knew ♥♥♥♥ was going down and a lot go characters died to get to the end

Y’all are wild, the only post I see trolling for awards is a dude asking about Fortnite as a joke I’m asking if the pace of the story picks up because for me it’s been kinda boring/ a let down compared to the other games

It starts good, by the middle you will get some chill, while nobody is dying, there are risks of getting expelled and going to juvie, getting blackmailed and possibly forcefully involved in underground dealings for your entire party, and expose data of most of Tokyo if not Japan. The stakes get higher, but not on you, more like on everyone.

I mean, you could chill on jail eating bread while Japan goes bankrupt, but that's midway homie, in the early you were going to get kicked outta school, the stakes get higher on the series, they always do.

The end is a hype train, but lemme tell you how it is going to be from now on:
Next palace is going to be meh story, but will kick your teeth in, that's arguably good if you are not horrible at the game.
Then, it is going to be the casino from the intro, that one is great. Most likely on the top 3.
After that, a cool one. Nothing much to it.
After that, this one get the ball rolling for the next ones.

Futaba's palace, while good, is not on the top 3. Be it gameplay-wise or story-wise. So it does get better. While the story is not on the level of 2, 3 and 4, it is quite close.

So it’s gonna be more awful than good…?

Nah you got it in reverse.

You currently are in the beginning of the worst part of the game, which is not even bad unless you are drooling on your chair of boredom and is afraid to read weaknesses and buffs. It is only going to get better after the next dungeon, from then on, it is going to get better.

Think of this part as partybuilding and getting your practice wheels off to see if you are a functional player.

if P3 Reload starting at good pace when theurgy have been unlocked, then Persona 5 Royal getting more interesting when Traits have been unlocked.

Drooling on chair of boredom has been the problem in between dungeons,

Well, then you soldier through it, or you drop it, no way around it.

You are on the worst part of the game, storywise, so go have fun with the gameplay and just speed-read the important bits of dialogue, you personas should be with some sweet recipes right now, like some Boost and Amp stack.

Tbh from my experience the story really doesn't get better everything is pretty meh when you look back on it. The best part of Persona 5 is the gameplay so hopefully that can save you from an otherwise lackluster story

p3 has much slower pacing idk what you're on about
Ivas Feb 17, 2024 @ 3:18am
P5 has much better pacing than P4 and especially P3.

In P5 something big always happens, stakes are raised every palace.

In P4 until the gamer dungeon (sorry, can't remember his name, the fish eyed one.) you basically go through same motions. It gives you a little new information, but too little. The team interactions, though, are so good that I can forgive the slow pacing.

P3 is a textbook definition of the bad pacing. Until August NOTHING happens. And then the story really picks up. Yes, from August its story is better than P5, but the fact that you have pretty much half of the game where the story doesn't exist, keeps me from giving P3 my personal "the best story" award

While P5 does have good pacing, the middle of the game is not as good as the beginning and the end, P4 have a smooth ride like a detective novel with action parts, and P3 is a slow burn with bits and pieces of the story coming together. P4 has the better pacing of all.

While I agree that P3 is slow as hell, there is definitely stuff happening until August, is just that there is no stakes until then. You come into the dorm, you find out about shadows, you find subtle documents on Tartarus, your team discovers Full Moon boss fights, you find Shinjiro and start to pierce together his relation with Mitsuru and Akihiko, start to form relationships with Yukari and Junpei, party members start showing up, Junpei get his hero tendencies down a not, Yukari starts doubting Kirijo then going into investigating.

It is breadcrumbs, yes, but until August you spend like, what, 5 months with one big timeskip in March to April? I've had much more worse time on Final Fantasy X-2.
