Mainline SMT games don't go for any overarching colour themes. Certain entries might use some colours more than the others, but it's nowhere near the complete stylization Persona games go for.
You pretty much described Persona 4 right here. They won't just repeat the themes like that.
Also, maybe they could shake things up a bit and go for a more mature cast and tone with the next game. Persona fans got older after all, and it would be a breath of fresh air allowing for different types of stories and more serious and mature subjects. But in reality, nobody knows. It will likely be another teenage cast of characters anyway.
people who had tube TVs can understand why lol
Yellow and red was done recently, orange would be similar to both of them. I have enough respect for the Persona devs to know they wouldn't do something like this, they clearly want each game to be VERY artistically distinct, everything from visuals to music.
Besides, they did kinda hint at the next game's colour theme being green, I thought that's where this whole thread came from. But it was a pretty long time ago now, and as we all should now video games development is an iterative process. Wouldn't be a first time major changes happen that completely change something that was once shown.

25th Persona anniversary promotional material. Just a lone, unused green bucket of paint and a spray can, as if still waiting for a protagonist to paint their colours on the wall like the others have done already.
If it's just a red herring, it's a damn good one.
