It was a step in the right direction to change that unfortunate scene with ryuji and the two dudes, and I hope Atlus will take the time to be a little more inclusive for LGBTQ+ fans in their future games! cheers :)

In before they do this... and then the complaints become that there aren't enough prepubescent trans characters.

All the power to them if they decide to include a gay romance... But I have learned that including something for the sake of "Inclusion" (aka: Appealing to an angry mob) is a monkey's paw in multiple ways.

that scene was better before. More realistic, when I was a kid there was a dude just like those guys in my town. Creepy middle aged dude who would wear make-up and hang around school yards trying to talk to little boys. He kissed one of my class mates older brother at one point.

Met his end when he pissed off one of the local drunks.
If the phantom thieves had been around to change his ways..he´d still be dead of old age by now.

the discussion got out of hand when people got upset at the scene in the game in the first place.

The reddit threads are hilarious with all the people who are apparently huge fans of the game but somehow manages to hate everything in it.

It wouldn't bother me if it happened but with a few caveats involved.

1) it must be optional ... there is no other way for it to play out and for Atlus to get my money

2) Don't do it for the sake of inclusion ... the last thing I want is to play a game made specifically for a very small but vocal minority. Let them create a kickstarter game if that is what they want ... a LGBT+ only game. If it's good for the goose it's good for the gander.

You aren't going to make money by focusing on certain groups of people just like certain developers/publishers have lost my business by using the J and W in front of RPG. I can't stop some people from being ignorant about that but I can certainly make my voice heard through my wallet when it comes to them.

Voting with my wallet is a joy because that is the one thing that can't be forced.

All the other romances seem to be player initiated in this series, I don't see why a M/M romance would be different in that regard

As long as every LBTQ+ oriented game starts adding hentai babe waifus and a straight white male duke nukem type character then so it´s fair.
that´s the only way forward.
