Should I play P5 or P3?
Im new to JRPG (this would officially be my first I will try to finish).

Im looking for a game that's easier to learn the mechanics and easy to access. Does Ps5 have simpler mechanics and less complex systems than P3? thanks!

P3reload takes the PS2 game and revives it with P5 mechanics so the two games are essentially the same gameplay wise (P3r is newer so the graphics are a bit more updated)

each persona game has a different story so it doesnt matter where you start in that regards

when it comes to the actual content i find that P5s dungeons are much better then P3s tartarus

P4 is better for new players, in P4 it's very simple to learn mechanics of Persona battles. Not many information and gameplay mechanics. The game doesn't overwhelm you with information and calmly teaches you the basics of game and battle.

But if you chose exclusively P3 or P5. Then it is better to play P3, because P5 is not really difficult, but there are a lot of different mechanics and information, sometimes it is not easy to get the hang of it right away.

persona 3 is a better game performance wise as it isn't a console port initially. It is made with pc in mind so there is less hassle dealing with the performance issues.
but persona 4 like above is the one you should get into first as it is a more completed game in term of fighting mechanics and life sim than p3. after that you can try p3 later as it shares a lot of similarities in term of enemies and mechanics
p5 is a different game so the mechanic is more overwhelming to get in at first.
P5...it's way more fun right off the bat as opposed to waiting 25-30 hours for P3 to get good.
The story and the characters in persona 3 feel much better and realistic when compared to persona 5, but i still believe that persona 5 is a better persona experience because of the constantly moving and engaging story combined with the much more polished daily life and areas. In persona 3, pending your time in the same two boring areas everyday can feel quite stale especially when the story comes to a bit of a block especially in the middle parts of the game. The dungeon of persona 3 is one big randomly generated tower with no puzzles at all. This is nothing compared to the fun and enganing palaces of persona 5. But i also have to say that the last 20 to 30 hours (when the story finally picks up ) of persona 3 is by far the best out of any other persona game. Overall, if you want the better rpg and life simulator experience, i would advise you to go 5, but it you want a fantastic story and characters that actually feel real and deep, go with persona 3.
