What's the point of dates and gifts after reaching Level 10 with a confidant?

I thought the only point of increasing bond is so the Confidant can level up but you can continue to go on dates with them and give gifts after. What does this do if the Confidant is already level 10?

Flavor. Spending time with people you like. Seeing new dialogue.

Fair enough. Just seems weird that you still get those bubbles when you say the right things, thought there might be special events or scenes to unlock or something

The game does that. There are times where you will get social stat upgrades for an event that it wasn't even possible to do until that stat was maxed.

I actually wish there was a way to hide the social stat increase animation if you're already maxed in that stat.

There is unique scenes with everyone, but they are rare. Basically, whenever you "Hang out" with someone that you cant rank up with, you might get a rare scene. However, you will miss atleast a few of them if you only pick the best options.

I maxed out the fortune teller, but only saw the Sky tower scene after hanging out with her.
