Kasumi is the worst character in the game!

It just blows my mind how some people can even remotely think that Kasumi is a good character in any way. She feels completely out of place in the setting and it's obvious that she was implemented later on, since she is basically completely disconnected to the main story.

Her backstory is shallow and boring and all she does is simping for the protagonist in a super annoying way. Her interactions with the main cast make no sense. And on top of that her perfectionism and "talent" for gymnastics just feels extremely superficial.

We need to stop putting these shallow female sidekicks into RPGs and instead focus on characters that actually have depth and character development to them. Kasumi is just not it, that's a fact not an opinion!

A modder managed to add a female protagonist mode to the game and alter everything but the animated cut scenes (because they lack an animation studio). This includes voice acting, costumes, battle animations, world animations, text replacement, and even new romances. When a single person can do it with existing files it raises a lot of questions about how much effort they really put into the idea when they claimed it just wasn't possible.

A single person being able to do it doesn't really mean much a single person can also make a jrpg by themselves as well. Adding additional sex options to a game like this measurably increases the game's budget as well as Q/A. Something else to keep in mind is he's modifying an already finished game not adding something while it's in the middle of production.

Yoshizawa isn't worth getting worked up about because she's hardly there to begin with. Sure, it's annoying that she graces the game cover art predominantly despite not being relevant until the very last few weeks and final palace of the game and it would have been nice for her to have been more available early on, but eventually there are just too many characters to go around. This isn't Chrono Cross.

I'm astonished that Kotaku still draws any web traffic. Nearly every gaming site is terrible and the concept of gaming journalism is nearly obsolete IMO, but Kotaku especially brings shame to the game.

All the game "journo" sites are slowly burning down around them. They are all the literal embodiment of the: "This is fine." meme. Kotaku iirc, shuttered a few of their overseas operations because of costs. Which I'm sure had absolutely nothing to do with their parent company getting nuked to hell and gone by getting sued left and right and or violating NDA's/failing to do their *snicker* "jobs". They recently got blacklisted by Nintendo because one of their bloggers wrote about her personal life instead of talking about the game she was supposed to be reviewing that Nintendo had paid and provided a copy for them to review.

Ok, so I just got to rank nine for the first time and I can see now why many in this thread are put off by Yoshizawa. The heavy handed manner in which the game really pushes her on the player as a romance option almost feels like emotional blackmail. Now I understand the resentment.

Meh, she’s more of a Rise character like 4. If anything the game somewhat pushes Ann with lover arcane. Ha Fumi has the most sudden choice out of the bunch.

Eh, she's not a bad character. I found her very cute. The game does seem to push her pretty hard.

They actually did a pretty good job with her. Besides she's part of the best part of the whole game, and her arc is unique.
