Really depends on how you play. Some people spend a lot of time in mementos whenever there isnt a palace available. Some rush through a palace in a day then just do social links most of the time.
The first one took me around 3 hours to beat, are they all similar length or do they get longer or shorter?
Also whats mementos? And where/how do they unlock?
My real advice is to checkout SMT games, no joke.
But are there any new ones? Or all old remasters?
The first one is the easiest to introduce you to the concept of palaces. The other palaces are longer and have more puzzles. Mementos is the place you unlock after the first palace, its basically a dungeon that unlocks more and more areas in it as you get further in the game. Grinding there is a great way to make money and level up.
Can you go into memento anytime? or just specific days? are there bosses or any good items/gear in there?
Almost anytime. There are a few days that you cant. Great gear there as well as the Reaper superboss.
So you play for the combat too?
Mementos is a super dungeon which takes a random layout each time you enter. It can be entered shortly after beating the first palace, and it is basically nonstop fighting. Depending on how you lean, mementos can be a huge time sink and can easily bring combat to a 50-50 ratio. I would advise against ignoring the life sim stuff though, as progressing it will directly impact your combat performance; leveling up confidants will unlock new skills and such, and the only way to get them is through confidant leveling (ie spending time hanging out with people).
Persona 5 at the end with all confidants maxed out is a completely different game than it is at the beginning with nothing.
If what you really love is the combat, check out the other SMT games. Nocturne in particular has some of the best combat, plus it's available on Steam. Yes, it is a remastered PS2 game, so the graphics are lower fidelity than what you're probably used to. Even still, it's remembered as a classic for a reason.
Thanks for actually answering my question!
