Please fix your game's TERRIBLE performance!
Dear developers, please fix this game.
I have an I7 4790K CPU, an RX 580 GPU, and 16 GB of RAM. Which is ABOVE the system requirements mentioned on steam page for "recommended"
That said, I have severe difficulties running this game properly.
- In the main menu I already start getting very very low fps
- in the game itself, I barely hit 30-32 fps in gameplay. and it gets much worse in populated areas like the school's hallways or main street and also while walking in the dungeons and while fighting enemies. The only places I get solid 60 fps are in the menus or in the safe rooms inside the dungeon.
I've been waiting for a looooooong time now and check steam every day to see if you have released any patch but the last one you did was a month ago and for fixing an achievement! This is not the way to treat people who have paid for your games.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING!

Maybe you will find a solution here https://www.getdroidtips.com/persona-5-royal-stuttering-lag-freezing/, most time the community find a solution.

If it runs perfect on your potato system doesn't mean it runs perfect for everyone. the game graphics are from PS3 era. 2 generations ago. so we're not talking about a demanding current gen game here. it's about optimization. Even people with 3080 gpus are reporting similar problems to mine. you are just lucky i guess.

Devs (for 99% of any game) don't read Steam forums.
Maybe it's because of my PC's specs but in 149 hours I had a single time when the fps dropped below 60. If it's not a wide spread issue it's likely not a game issue so they can't/won't do anything.

The game is oddly extremely CPU intensive so if you have something in the background sucking CPU power that could possibly be your issue. Your CPU is also the overclock capable version of the bare minimum CPU required to play the game. As mentioned above already this issue seems to only be affecting a small portion of the community or it would have been addressed by now.

i can run the game smoothly but some specific sections begin to stutter and it simply doesnt make sense, i can run Hunt or Tarkov or GoT or any other modern title, it really seems like bad optimization or ehm... Denuvo

This game runs like a dog for me over a period of time. Starts fine, then something happens (no idea what) and big lag, big pauses come in until I quite and go back in. Maybe AV or something is kicking in behind the game? Not sure but it becomes unplayable.

I fixed my awful and weird stuttering by chance today, whenever the game dropped under 60fps I wouldn't get an stable framerate but this awfully juddery bounce between (example) 40 and 55.

I was thinking it's been years since I checked what's running on my PC so I did a quick app inventory (all ok) and proceeded to check windows services and windows task scheduler.

In services I found AtkexComSvc.exe which is part of the asus utility for my motherboard which I had to briefly use to force flash a bios install when I installed windows 10. The utility was removed right after that but it left that service running in the background.

In task scheduler I found muachost.exe whic is part of the MSI gaming app which I used a couple of years ago to turn off the RGB of my old 1070 and uninstalled right after. I've upgraded to a new card of a different brand since then but again it seems like they can't be trusted to keep things clean.

Now, I have an old i5 7600, 4c/4t which is really not good for current denuvo spits on the floor and I don't know which of those services were causing the bad stutters whenever the game went under 60fps but it was like night and day.

Maybe it's just because my CPU is too weak to begin with, or those programs were messing with low level stuff or with the SMBus, or it's all that + denuvo but the issue is fixed and I wanted to share, unlikely as it is that someone is in the same exact situation.

And yes, it's time to upgrade my CPU...

My CPU is the "recommended" cpu for this game not the minimum.

Which is also the minimum one. :steammocking:
