NG+ what should i do

i have the goal of romancing everyone i can for the thieves den challenge but beyond that im not really sure what i should be going for. should i just go to the gym and temple to increase stats? what did you guys do your second time through?

A ton of Jazz Club to buff party members with new skills and stats would be my #1 recommendation. Every Sunday, the Jazz Club offers a new skill that a party member can learn. Futaba can get some impressive Support abilities that make her crazy powerful.

It's pretty neat to start a NG+ run with max social stats: there are some funny dialogue options only available for max social stats early game, like telling Igor that he's stupid, or dodging the teacher's chalk and getting top marks on exams. Hang out with friends more and gift them things (some may even give you decorations for your attic dwelling). Making a beefcake Satanael with 99 stats can be fun with his OP trait. Plus, you get to carry over a Perma-Pick and all the stamps for Mementos, so leveling is a breeze.

Just try to do things you weren't able to do before.

Max out all of the confidants to get all of their farewell gifts.

Max out social stats.

Grind permanent stat boosts from things like the gym.

Create godly Personas and register them.

Complete the Compendium

Beat all of the velvet room challenges.

Get all the best gear.

Complete all of the Thieves Den challenges and buy all of the rewards.

u can do romancing all girls while go to jazz club to gain stats buff for party member and doing gym included for joker or getting new skills for party members every sunday.

NG+ has more way free time because player doesn't need to grind social stats anymore, also max out kawakami in NG+ as soon as she can be triggered also give a lot opportunity after doing some palace/mementos in evening unlike in NG we have guts wall at level 3, doing fishing for ali dance accessory or doing batting cage for Unshaken will accessory also can be obtained when u do romance all girls in your second playthrough, it's only matter of your priority.

Besides what others already mentioned, NG+ also has 2 more boss fights available to find as well.

You can fight Jose in the first play through.

I played the vanilla P5 NG+ 4 times on both the PS3 and PS4. Dunno if you care about the trophies but in order to get 100% of the Personas (at least in vanilla - dunno if they changed it in Royal), you need to play NG+. As others have mentioned there are secret boss fights in NG+ (one in vanilla and more in Royal). I am only familiar with the secret boss in vanilla but it is far harder than the Reaper so not only do you need to max your level (and the companions you plan on taking) you need to increase your HP and SP as well. And you also need to max the Personas you take with you to the fight and raise their stats as well. So you are going to need a lot of money - so getting Chihaya to at least rank 3 for the money reading is a must. Since the fastest way to level up not only yourself but your Personas as well is to fight the Reaper repeatedly, you are going to also need the Touryou ability you get from Star Rank 9.
For the secret boss battle you are going to need Yoshitsune for the ability he gets at lvl 94 that is not inheritable. The reward for winning this battle is the Omnipotent Orb. Dunno what it is for the other secret boss battles but I assume they are going to be as good if not better.
