English dub or JP?

Tbh, this game voice acting is good in both EN and JP. I have dilemma to choose which language should I play?

Both are great~ but I would go with english because the subtitles don't match the japanese audio. But that's really only an issue if you're studying japanese and it drives you insane :)

I'd do JP. It was great when I last played P5 and minus one of my favorites being replaced I doubt that changed. But as said above the subs kinda suck.

Main cast in English is incredible, but some of the background NPCs are really phoning it in.

JP is fine, but it plays to types a bit too strongly for my tastes.

English dub. Unless you aren't bother by the fact that a large number of voice lines in the background and in-game battles have no subtitles whatsoever, you can go with the Japanese dub.

Definitely English. People that go with Japanese are brainlets following the crowd to fit in, or are actual 100% mega-weebs (we're all weebs here, but some are better than others).

What do you get out of listening to voices you can't understand?

Japanese voice cast is way better, but some people want to read as little as possible, in a jrpg nonetheless.

I stick with English audio and subtitles. The voice actors perform well in the delivery of lines.

Yes english VA is solid.

If you watch anime in japanese then well go japanese, else you can use english and have fun.

For one, hearing that same person voice 1000 characters every time is atrocious. I've never heard the english dub for P5/R so I won't comment on its quality but 90% of dubs are of extremely poor quality because the audience for them is very undiscerning.

This game has really great English VA, of course some japanese names aren't spelled properly, but that's minor issue. This game reminds me of Dveil May Cry 5. Even though it's Capcom game, English is way superb. Same goes for Persona 5.

Uh, the Japanese dub does the same thing.

Edit: I personally tend to go for dubs these days unless it's absolutely horrible. When I was in my teens and 20s, I was almost militant about always using subtitles and the original Japanese track in games (TV shows and movies are a different story), but on the cusp of 40, I've found that I prefer the simplicity of what I'm reading and hearing being the same thing.

It also helps that dubs have gotten dramatically better over the years.

In the 90s nobody could fault you for being sub only, because the dubs were trash. But it's been 30 years, and there's money in it now.

I don't know if the JP dub includes English subs in the short animated scenes - if not, that might be a bit of an issue.

I generally prefer the English dub, but I've been through with both and either one is fine.
