I just realised something
This game, and Persona 4, all take inspiration from Jungian psychology. It uses persona and shadows in an interesting way. Hell persona 5 even has mementos which is meant to be the collective unconscious. According to Jungian psychology, if you do not accept the shadow or true parts of yourself, you will become a darker version of yourself. Can't believe i didn't realise this sooner. I mean, I don't believe in Jungian psychology, it was around the same time as Sigmund Freud's psychology, Jung was even a student of Freud, but they did disagree with each other on numerous things like sexuality and religion.

Just pretend everyone types IMO before their online statement and you'll do fine.
Well I just don't find Jungian psychology interesting. It was made by a madman that believed a variety of messed up things and had little basis in psychology. As such, I do not find it interesting or memorable. Hence, subjective.
I don't understand. If that's how you feel about Jungian psychology, then why were you popping off in your first post about finding out the game is based on it?

Because I was surprised about it, doesn't mean i'm interested in it, just surprised. Plus i'm studying Jung as we speak, so I find him even more boring.

As you may know, Persona 1 and 2 were very occult. Maybe that's why it wasn't very popular. It was based on tarot cards and mythology. From Persona 3 onward, the word "shadow" is used more explicitly and is the prototype for the current series based on Jungian psychology. If you have the chance, give it a try.

2 does lean into the exploration of the "shadow" concept later on - Innocent Sin even has you (IS boss spoiler)

fighting party members' shadow selves, not unlike P4

But I agree that the newer games cover the themes more comprehensively.
