Favorite Confidant?

Favorite character/story tied to a confidant? Probably Futaba. Everytime I advance her rank, we have to go out on a social adventure. It's pretty fun seeing how she contextualizes her own weirdness.

Favorite confidant ability? Chariot. I love being able to mow through helpless jobbers while I cruise around Mementos. Though I will admit, Sun is really nice too because I like robbing enemies.

Futaba is actually an adorable character with how well they developed her personality.

Maruki's such an easy pick, so I'll look at the vanilla characters since that was my first experience with the game anyway. For me it'd be Ryuji or Hifumi, pretty hard to pick between them but I'm gonna say Ryuji cuz he's the very first person who actually ends up having your back. The Kamoshida arc is my favorite part of the game, I love the dynamic with the Shujin trio and that oppressive feel. While Ann's Confidant doesn't exactly put Kamoshida in the past, I like Ryuji's because it really feels like a continuation of that part of the game. And again, Ryuji's just a great dude, so my love for his character during the story probably makes me a bit biased toward liking his Confidant even more.

Hifumi's is pretty stellar too. Really cute and cool character. I loved the story in her Confidant and it probably had one of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and scummiest Mementos targets. Finally, she was the first romance option I couldn't let my protagonist's autism ignore. Just felt right and stuff for him to really connect with her by the end of the Confidant.

It's a hard pick, but seeing as I had more to say about Ryuji's, I'll say his is above hers.

I think she is one of the best developed characters in the game tbh. I think it's partially because of how her palace was done in the style of persona 4, and 4 is praised (by most people) to have good characters.

But in terms of my favourite confidant and not necessarily character, I would say, Yusuke. He's such an eccentric guy and seeing him expanded upon is great, even if he isn't as well a developed character as Futaba (he's still pretty damn good thought).
Being a person who draws and tries to make art myself, I feel a connection to him. He's kind of like me in terms of how weirdly I act too.

That's all, his story is nothing special, but i wouldn't say it is bad. And his abilit, shall i say, meh....but still....me likey him.....haha...

Maruki and his arc is top tier writing so its my pick, akechi in royal was excellent aswell my biggest gripe with the vanilla version was how akechi was handled and royal solves this in the best way possible.

I like the confidant that gives me the ability to switch teammates during battle. It's the best one.

Favourite Confidant abilities: Death. Once you can buy SP Adhesive 3 accessories it gives you a lot more spare time after palace completions. Although Chariot and Star have great perks as well.

Favourite Confidant arc/personality: honestly, I had fun with Moon. He's hopeless and a bit of a dork but if Joker won't look out for him, who will?

Honourable mention to Devil but only because I only recently realised that her voice actress also did Yukiko in 4 and now that's all I hear during these scenes. :D

Excluding the Royal exclusives, my favorites are Yoshida for being a great foil to Shido and Mishima for managing to go from insufferable to endearing.

If we're talking mechanics, then mine would go to the unholy trinity of Strength, Chariot, and Fortune for being broken AF.
