That is not a "secret palace", that is just normal content from Royal. Third semester.
And, wait, you seriously had problems fighting the last boss of the game? How...? By that time you and your party should be so powerful you can mop the floor with everything.
his palace requires you to max maruki. Unless you were told beforehand you wont really know and can be easy to miss unless you know maruki's confidant's useful. Otherwise you'd just jump straight to the vanilla ending. Thats enough to be a secret palace.
Theyre all level 85 and maruki does the exact thing u said against my team and two-shots my team, disables their source of healing preventing me from reviving them back, then its just back and forth fear injecting, reviving on both ends, to the point i just gave up. The fact maruki revives the tentacles alone is making the battle a lot more frustating than it should since it gives the persona a good 2 - 8 damage...
P5 has been relatively easy aside okumura and yagaboth but maruki is just unfair
It's actually part of the true ending/3rd semester... You need Councelor, Faith and Justice arcana at a certain level to progress into that part of the storyline.
A tip for that battle is using the ring from Haru's Palace to put Concentrate on the MC so you can medigolaon the tentacles into oblivion every round.... that leaves you with 1 character to heal (via magic OR ITEMS (they don't count as magic so buy a couple of those 200hp restores for the entire party from Tae) and 1 character to either deal damage to the boss or put another concentrate on the MC... on Turns you can't use magic use Items to put Charge on the MC and use a similar hard hitting Physical attack...
He's not as hard as Okumura tbh.... just wait untill you hit his surlast form (maruki I mean) ... he hits you with a charged almighty attack attack before you even had your first turn and repeats it every other turn... I was quite shocked that the same strategy I used for his first form dealt literal digits of damage on his HP-bar during that form.... have fun with THAT phase of the fight :P
No, not really. Almost everybody gets it blind on their first try. Maxing confidants is something you just do, it's not a secret. And, unless you're one of those weird people who just rushes the game and maxes out like 4 confidants through the game, you will have maxed most of the confidants in the game. Maruki's confidant is really easy to max, has good abilities, and is easily available, it's not a "secret" if 90% people get it without even knowing about it. It's just additional content, as I said.
He actually wasn't that hard, it was just a little tedious.
My party was Makoto (eventually switched out for Morgana), Ryuji and Haru. Ryuji's physical attacks, electric attacks and electric break guaranteed those tentacle hands were always going down in baton passes. Same with Makoto and Haru with Nuclear and Psionic attacks with Joker playing healer and buff bot with skills or items.
One of the tentacles will constantly heal Maruki if it isn't taken down, but that is really just a red herring. You don't need to get Maruki's health down at all. Just his persona's and its health is never healed.
The one on the left and in front of him are more important to take down because they are what buff him and debuff the party. So long as they are all knocked down though you can still deal full damage.
