What are you guys think about Akechi ?

Aside from the fact that he's the villain to Phantom Thief, I find him rather pitiful, also because he wants to show that he's not useless, but in the end he has to face his own clone and d!e, after choosing the true ending I think he's more pitiable than to blame, what are you guys think?

What he did was horrible and can't go unpunished, but I understand why he would do it and can't really blame him. I just feel sorry for him.

He's two characters in one. Royal tried to fix this slightly through his new link but its still noticeable.

There's pre-twist Akechi, and post-twist Akechi.

Pre-twist Akechi made a lot more sense and was probably the better written character even if it was a bit predictable.

Post-twist Akechi is a lunatic who is very entertaining due to his voice actor, but not much else. He discards practically everything interesting about his previous self, and the steps he takes to accomplish his goal makes no sense.

TBH if you look at Akechi's character from his shoes hes pretty dumb. He literally as the ability to control or kill people with no tracks back to him, on top of being a detective. Which BTW means he should be able to "help with" any case relating to the crimes he committed, or just manipulate the people investigating it. He can literally control people from the shadows, and he does that for basically 2/3rd's of the game.

Yet... he has daddy issues, that and a very good job, can easily get money dirty or clean, he can EASILY obtain love, friendship or find some sort of father figure. But he chooses to become a lap dog murderer for his father, even if he didn't start out ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy he certainly got there.

(and he had HIS powers before the protagonist did) so yeah no, he got what he deserved.

doesn't deserve detective prince title, only naoto ( ik she is a girl but she deserve that title ). he is not really smart and also... ( sorry but he is dumb ).

He can do everything with that power, why not use it for personal gain? if he think properly, akechi can use that power to obtain everything he want..

I really like Akechi, but for the most part after he is revealed as a villain, and 3rd Semester, and especially when he is acting like a lunatic. I don't think he is redeemable, even if he were to spend all his life trying to atone, which I don't think he would ever try to do, even if he was able to cheat death after the 3rd Semester.
