the fps problem
can we realistically expect an update or patch from ATLUS/SEGA? the game is playable, but it's not what we paid for.

what FPS problem.

...Maybe?
Soul Hackers 2 got some updates, don't know how it handled its technical issues since I don't own that game, I just heard people talking about it. I seriously hope P5 gets some patches, the game isn't completely broken for me but it does have some annoying issues and wacky performance in some areas.

Some people are reporting huge fps drops in crowded areas even though they have powerful rigs. I'm talking about dudes with RTX cards having their fps drop from 120-ish to around 40-60 in some places. Kinda concerning if you ask me, specially for a PS3 game that has a GTX750ti in its recommended specs.

My pc is kinda crap but it runs the game fine enough on the lowest settings, but there's also a bug that resets the shadow quality to medium everytime you go through a loading screen, which consequently takes a toll on my performance, so... Hope they fix it soon.

But it has though. Not on all systems, but PC games can be quirky like that. Sometimes its not even about having bad pc parts, its just a compatibility issue (like how some people who have i3 CPUS reported weird stutterings in Overwatch 2, even though they ran Overwatc 1 with no problems). Just because its fine for you doens't mean that it is for everybody.

this is nothing compared to all the audio crackle issues that everyone is having. everyone is having massive audio crackle issues in every cut scene and transition and menu

eveyrone had massive audio crackle issues thats why everyone refunded the game

They may patch it, but japanese developers have a terrible track record in this aspect.

I think the annoying part is there is several ideas and theories to fix it. But because of the nature of the game and its DRM the community is helpless. Honestly, I think the biggest issue is just general unoptimization. The speech bubbles from crowds cause the most amount of lag if you can run fast enough before they spawn the game is fairly stable. Apart from other places in palaces where one can see the lag again.

How would it be an optimization issue if it's only happening to a minority of players? Stop blaming the game of the devs for your lack of troubleshooting abilities. There's clearly something going on with your device, as i have installed this on my desktop, my GPD Win2 just to test, my Steam deck, and my old laptop. None have issues, but i also go out of my way to make sure their drivers are updated.

Average gaming PC here, not only do I run the game on all high settings 1080p, but also yesterday had a job to finish on Adobe After Effects and played Persona while it was rendering without a single difference in perfomance.

Think many of people that are complaining on the game have their issues vs ATLUS and not the game. Sad community.

There are enough people with issues that I'm inclined to believe that there are disproportionate problems with performance that affect a certain subset of hardware.

So far it seems the people with the most issues are likely to have less than 8 logical CPU threads available to work with. But I'd be curious if anyone who meets that requirement is also getting huge frame drops.

For me, I'm running on 1080p and so far I have seen inconsistent stuttering problems both in the Underground Walkway in crowded areas, and in certain areas in Kamoshida's Palace (the areas with the flower petals, so the 'church' and the main boss area). Apart from that, it's been pretty flawless 120FPS, though.
