Combine that with the weak/crit/tech 3x bonus and this is normal
In fact, you should lower the difficulty down to hard if one shotting mooks bothers you for some reason
Yep, because the AI doesn't give too much consideration on weaknesses.
Or rather, it's easier for the human player to take advantage of game mechanics, compared to the AI enemies. So the "it can happen to you too" part of the deal is lessened.
