I think it just isn't discussed because the game doesn't really use the mouse very much outside of camera movement, which has adjustable sensitivity.
Move your mouse fast and then slow at the same distance on your mouse pad, you will be looking at different directions in the game, that is mouse acceleration. With raw mouse inout you should be looking at the same direction no matter how fast/slow you move your mouse.
People are saying "bumping your dpi/sens up fixes this," because when you try to look fast with your mouse the game slows the camera down, like with a controller. But the thing is, now when you move your mouse slow you will be moving the camera too fast.
