But I agree. Streaming games on a subscription service seems to be the future in which gaming is heading.
Only mainstream. Streaming services like that are kinda poison to all the smaller devs out there. That's why I'd never support them. You kill the most interesting game ideas like that and keep the boring stuff that you've seen a million times before.
edit: In a world where streaming would be the only thing around, a series like Persona could've never existed. Starting as a small niche and slowly growing into what it is now. Although the quality also went down while the success went up, which is unfortunate but also kinda normal. They had to appeal to a broader audience rather than just with what they started with. It's still not terrible or anything, but yeah. The writing is definitely not P5's strength.
I really wonder who is really ignorant here.
If you're paying for game pass subscription to play one game for four years then that's idiotic. I've personally saved plenty of cash from game pass on games.
It's pretty stupid to get it solely on one game. It's ingenious to get it to play over 20 games a year.
I'm actually anti-streaming when it comes to gaming, but that's just my preference. That being said, most of what you're saying is not correct.
Sure, if you pay $1 per month and only ever play a single game, it's more expensive. Otherwise, it's much cheaper, since you will build up a large library of games that are available to you as long as you're subscribing.
If you're the type of person who will replay the full game more than twice? Then sure it's a better idea to purchase a copy. Otherwise, it's much better to just "rent" it and complete it there.
Honestly, even if you play it more than once, it's probably still cheaper to get it as part of game pass and by the time you want to play it a second time it will be 75% off to purchase.
Also, this is PC gaming.. you can't re-sell physical copies anymore. They're usually just a box with a code to redeem these days.
If people want to pirate the game, Switch piracy sites are everywhere. If they don't, Denuvo's just a deterrent that can't fix the above.
My boy Sakamoto has an emulator in his name.
$1 for a month of GP is a steal though, don't miss out on that
Nothing else there interests me at the moment and I just prefer the Steam system much more, the way they handle achievements and other stuff and I would not want my save file stuck on the xbox ecosystem
And consoles are going to extinct, soon than you think XD (except portable XD, which werent killed by tablets nor phones). Physical games will also become extinct, sometimes they don't even sell the cartridge anymore, just the plastic. When they go extinct, only collector's editions of all the games will be sold, but there won't be a regular edition, because all the games will be digital, and most of them will be playable with a subscription. Welcome to the near future XD
