Denuvo and piracy have no sense anymore
I played it for 1€ in game pass. Denuvo has no sense anymore, neither piracy. People paying 60$ or pirating are just ignorant

You do know game pass version of the game has denuvo and microsoft drm right?

But I agree. Streaming games on a subscription service seems to be the future in which gaming is heading.

Only mainstream. Streaming services like that are kinda poison to all the smaller devs out there. That's why I'd never support them. You kill the most interesting game ideas like that and keep the boring stuff that you've seen a million times before.

edit: In a world where streaming would be the only thing around, a series like Persona could've never existed. Starting as a small niche and slowly growing into what it is now. Although the quality also went down while the success went up, which is unfortunate but also kinda normal. They had to appeal to a broader audience rather than just with what they started with. It's still not terrible or anything, but yeah. The writing is definitely not P5's strength.

Game pass is a sham: If you pay 1$ per month, it will become more expensive than if you bought the game alone within 4 years. Also, with game pass you do not actually own the game, so it is gone if you cancel your game pass. Plus, if you buy physically, you can resell the game later down the line.

I really wonder who is really ignorant here.

If you're paying for game pass subscription to play one game for four years then that's idiotic. I've personally saved plenty of cash from game pass on games.

It's pretty stupid to get it solely on one game. It's ingenious to get it to play over 20 games a year.

I'm actually anti-streaming when it comes to gaming, but that's just my preference. That being said, most of what you're saying is not correct.

Sure, if you pay $1 per month and only ever play a single game, it's more expensive. Otherwise, it's much cheaper, since you will build up a large library of games that are available to you as long as you're subscribing.

If you're the type of person who will replay the full game more than twice? Then sure it's a better idea to purchase a copy. Otherwise, it's much better to just "rent" it and complete it there.

Honestly, even if you play it more than once, it's probably still cheaper to get it as part of game pass and by the time you want to play it a second time it will be 75% off to purchase.

Also, this is PC gaming.. you can't re-sell physical copies anymore. They're usually just a box with a code to redeem these days.

Here in the US where I live I can't see Game Streaming Services being the future because of how terrible our Internet infrastructure is and how terrible our speeds are because not everyone has gigabit Internet.

The real reason Denuvo is pointless here is because the Switch version can be emulated at 60 FPS out of the box on Ryujinx already, and the Switch has a way more prolific piracy community than PC games do. The Switch ISO leaked early and there's already people who completed the entire game before the release date with no issues outside minor visual oddities that'll get resolved in updates.

If people want to pirate the game, Switch piracy sites are everywhere. If they don't, Denuvo's just a deterrent that can't fix the above.

Is this a coincidence that it is called "Ryujinx".
My boy Sakamoto has an emulator in his name.

Let people do whatever they please, some just don't like paying a suscription every month and that is a valid enough reason to not play it on gamepass.

$1 for a month of GP is a steal though, don't miss out on that

You would be right if someone only played 1 game. If someone plays 20+ games, then it becomes worth it.

I have a currently active GamePass Ultimate subscription and still paid the full price for this game on Steam

Nothing else there interests me at the moment and I just prefer the Steam system much more, the way they handle achievements and other stuff and I would not want my save file stuck on the xbox ecosystem

I played almost almost all the catalogue from game pass. I paid barely 50€, playing all I want for 2 years or so. I dont care owning any game. And if I really love a game, I can buy it, and for that time, it is 30-50-70% off. Always win with game pass, thats the truth.

And consoles are going to extinct, soon than you think XD (except portable XD, which werent killed by tablets nor phones). Physical games will also become extinct, sometimes they don't even sell the cartridge anymore, just the plastic. When they go extinct, only collector's editions of all the games will be sold, but there won't be a regular edition, because all the games will be digital, and most of them will be playable with a subscription. Welcome to the near future XD

Some people just prefer having the feeling of owning a game. Some people like Steam better then Game Pass. In the end it doesn't really matter if someone chooses to pay full price on Steam or go the Game Pass route, it's just preference.

Seems like the only good thing about buying the game instead of playing it on game pass is that you get to mod it
