1- Locate your Game Pass save: C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\SEGAofAmericaInc.A_BUNCH_OF_NUMBERS_AND_LETTERS\SystemAppData\wgs

Inside wgs I found two folders: one with a lot of numbers and letters and the other with a single letter, go to the folder with a lot of numbers, there are your actual saves. Inside that folder you'll find even more folders with numbers and letters (in my case 3, but more if you've used more than 2 save spaces ingame) and a file named "containers.index".

Inside those folders you'll find a file "container.NUMBER" and another file with no extension, WHICH IS THE FILE YOU'LL COPY TO STEAM (a.k.a. your save file).

2- Open Persona 5 Royal on Steam, start a new game, and play (skip) until the game lets you save; save the game, then close it.

3-Disable Steam Cloud on P5R's options.

4- Go to the following route: C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SEGA\P5R\Steam\A_BUNCH_OF_NUMBERS\savedata\DATA01 and DELETE the file you'll find in there (DATA.DAT).

5- Copy your save file from Game Pass into this folder and rename it to "DATA.DAT".

6- Open the game on Steam and load your save file, check if everything is okay, then progress a little bit and save.

7- Close the game and enable Steam Cloud on P5R's options.

you can even transfer ps4 save file to pc or directly nintendo save file to steam or gamepasse with the newly released scripts. between nintendo steam and gamepass, the naming of gamepass is different but the resolution is the same so you may need to change the name

Yes, it is possible to transfer the PC Game Pass save into Steam, I myself did it with my 3-hour save, here's how:

1- Locate your Game Pass save: C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\SEGAofAmericaInc.A_BUNCH_OF_NUMBERS_AND_LETTERS\SystemAppData\wgs

Has anyone confirmed if achievements automatically unlock on steam when bringing in a game pass save where you have earned achievements?

I have done this for other games where I owned it on a different launcher, then bought it on steam and many achievements suddenly popped up when I loaded my saved game. But I know this depends on how the game was programmed to track achievements.

Achievements don't unlock retroactively. You can use a steam achievement unlocker (google it) to unlock them, but of course this is/can be a cheating tool so use it responsibly.

So I tried copying both container.NUMBER and the other file with no extensions that had a lots of numbers and letters. I hopped in-game and my level was 1, no thieves den, no messages, wasn't the right day and my playtime is at the max limit. Could you maybe specify more on what exactly I do here? Idk if I'm a dumbass once again, but seems odd it didn't work well for me

Just thought I'd clarify anything for people who stumble across this thread.

Once you get to the point where you can see your save files and the containers.index file, you'll want to look for the two folders that are most recently modified, which should be the first two save files you see.

DON'T take the save data from the very top file, instead take the save data from the other save file that has the same modified date, which should be second front the top. For some reason, the very top file will cause the game to set your level to 1 and a bunch of other weird stuff as quoted in TotallyNotJP's response.

If all else fails, follow the steps from Sakuh's guide with every single one of the save files, one of them will eventually work.

If things are still not working, then you're likely not following the steps correctly.

With that being said, I wasn't able to get my Thieves Den progress to transfer over for me for some reason. If that matters to you, I'd either keep trying some other way or play through the game again.

Hope that solves somebody's problems.

EDIT:
I've recently discovered how to get the Thieves Den data, thanks to Sakuh

In order to get your save data for the Thieves Den, follow all the same steps as getting your regular data, but take the savedata from the very top file.

1. Go to
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SEGA\P5R\Steam\A_BUNCH_OF_NUMBERS\savedata\SYSTEM

2. Delete the SYSTEM.DAT file and paste in your own save data, then rename your data to SYSTEM.DAT

Just to be clear, when getting your savedata from the PC Game Pass, there should be two folders that were modified most recently. One of them (for me it was the very top one) will be your save data for the Thieves Den, which you will follow the steps for SYSTEM.DAT, the other one (for me it was the second from the top) will be your actual save, which you can follow Sakuh's guide for. It's important not to get these mixed up, but if you do, you can always redo the steps and change the files you use until things are working correctly.
