yes that's better. The story is debatable some people like 4 more but I would argue majority enjoyed 5 the most.
In terms of story... P4G is better imo, P5 is a mess -among other stuff-, but the consensus says that P5 is better, so stick with that.
The char are far more recognizable in P5 and far better written and more associated with the society issues , even with the topics of mental health , where P4 's char still feel very dated , very stereotypical .
Gameplay: P5R > P4G
Story: P4G < P5R
Don't be like this guy, don't use the DLC personas, (you can summon them for free in game)
What is the story of Persona 5 Royal? Is it aimed to be more for kids?
Unless you think Succubus/Succubi are good for kids...
Thanks! Sounds good I think I will buy it when it comes out
In P4 I liked pretty much everyone. Even Teddy..... who I initially hated. But about midway through it was evident just how much more entertaining a charcter he was than Mona. I also did not initially like Kanji, though he turned out to be a rather fun character, though i didnt much care for him in combat. I thought Chie was kind of boring but she had a few moments that overall left me with a positive rather than neutral opinion.
As for gameplay everything about P5R is clearly better except like others have said the story. Its a personal choice which story is better. P4 has a more straightforward story given that its told from a linear timeline. P5 is told through flashbacks for about half the game. Its well done, but its a method of storytelling that may appeal to less people than a straightforward timeline.
Thanks for the answer.
Yes, I really liked the characters and story of P4 Golden, but I just didn't like the gameplay in the dungeons and the battles. Each dungeon felt more like work than fun. So I couldn't really enjoy the story because I quit after 20 hours and now it's hard to start again because I know the beginning, but I'm not that deep into it to start from my old save game.
So if the gameplay and combat are better and more fun in P5, then the story isn't that important to me.
I just want good fights, an interesting story that makes you want to know how it ends, and some nice romances ;)
I agree with the general sentiment that the characters and stories in 4 (and especially 3) are generally better written, more interesting and poignant; but the dungeon mechanics and gameplay loop are fairly outdated by modern standards.
I played P5R first and loved it so I then bought and played P4. I did miss alot of the gameplay elements of 5 but the characters were strong enough that I was ok missing those systems. But yes the combat is way better. Also fusing of personas is SUBSTANTIALLY better. There are alot more team combo systems in place during fights in Persona 5. The dungeon design is substantially improved, each dungeon is unique. Though Mementos..... you will either like or dislike that giant side dungeon..... Its very generic, similar in design to P4 dungeons.
Yeah I heard of that in other posts. So maybe I will read a small guide about that so I dont miss this semester. I guess it happends more at the end anyways
