[SPOILER] Okumura Boss fight is beyond **********
seriously, I have the tools but do way too little damage to the bots. On top of that I breeze through all the enemies in the dungeon signaling me that I am decent enough level (45) but now the waves of robots are stupid. Not only is the rng stupid(getting hunger so I cannot baton pass) but the amounts of turns the boss gets to afflict stuff to us, weakness does nothing to the robots and doesnt cancel explosions is a huge uturn of what the game taught us up to this point. Whoever designed the boss is stupid or a sadist, its not fun when the bots run away right before you re almost got them all down. The spike in that fight is pretty freaking stupid and just not fun at all.

Pro Tip: Try swapping the difficulty to merciless so you do more damage. Feel free to swap it back after. Not sure if it'll be enough to help you finish, but it worked for me on my run back on ps4.

the entire boss fight is a dps check, you have 2 rounds to kill that collective set of bots before you have to move on.

the only one thats a big threat is the second to last group, the ones weak to psy, as they have a moderate amount of health and mid psy may simply not be enough if the boss def ups one of them.

the easiest way to do it is simply items on the other 2 players in your group to baton pass 4 times to use aoe psy twice per round, it should be enough to get through the wave and move on to the easy parts of the fight.

between you and haru you should have enough, if not, prep for the round with attack up and work from there i suppose, or go back and get some personas to fuse a bit

Turns out turning the game to merciless like recommend above was way more balanced. Its kind of ridiculous and clearly shows poor design on Atlus part. Usually fights felt challenging and not frustrating. This fight just felt like a frustrating drag combined with all the 4v1 and „debuffs“ the boss smacked me with. On merciless I was able to do enough damage. The difficulty wasn’t the biggest problem. The RNG and damage coupled with the flee was. Really frustrating boss fight and again, ridiculous that its easier on the hardest difficulty

btw i beat the boss on merciless the first try.

I had no issues on normal, and I used Ryuji, Haru, and Morgana. I also made sure Joker had access to personas with multi wind, elec, and psy spells. I did NOT use DLC personas, items, or accessories. That coupled with items that do elemental damage made this an easy fight.

The original P5 version of this fight was a joke while Futaba's mother was annoying. In Royal they made Futaba's mother a joke and Okurmura freaking stupid. I don't blame people for using DLC personas and putting it to easy just to get it done.

Royal version of this fight is stupid.

Merciless isn't the hardest difficulty. Hard is.

This is simply down to doing triple damage from weakness/crits/technicals WHILE getting boosted experience and gold, which makes Merciless a walk in the park - you end up with pools of SP leftover from killing enemies in one attack. Once Ann gets Dormina and Morgana gets Pulinpa, you don't even really need to worry about whether or not you can hit weaknesses anymore - all it costs is 3 SP to delete anything from the battlefield. As the devs confirmed in their interview, it's a fun difficulty that makes you feel good, but not intended as the hardest challenge.

Yeah, that fifth wave (the big green guys) is a damage check fight that can be a frustrating wall if not approached properly. (I personally lost a few times before deciding to give in and fuse a persona specifically to deal with them) You pretty much have to have Haru plus a persona with either Mapsio or Maeiga to take them down in time (I personally used Red Rider w/Mapsio), unlike the prior waves that can be dealt with with only one persona having their weakness.

As for the All Out Attack not being able to be triggered, that's because Shadow Okumura and Cognition Haru are technically on the field and not knocked down, despite them not being targetable yet.

ah okumura boss fight was the worse, I actually have to reduce the difficulty for that. thank god I never used the elemental damage item coz you really need it in this battle to reach the highest baton pass for maximum damage

I forgot that merciless could actually make this fight easier

All you need to do is use baton pass and you can 1-3 shot the damage-check enemies. Bring some element damage item (you can craft in your room) so other party member beside Joker can deal other element damage and you are good to go. No need for DLC persona and such.

I honestly rarely use baton pass before only to find out how broken it is.

Bruh. This is the easiest persona game, by far. One of the easiest JRPGs as well. Royal made it even easier. HOW are you even struggling with anything? :csd2huh:

I thought Nocturne in entirety was easier than Okumura boss in P5R.

At least I was never forced to switch the difficulty in Nocturne.

No matter how many items I used for Okumura to have fully powered up baton pass (also maxed out in darts btw), no matter how much I buff attack and debuff enemy defense, even that wouldn't be enough damage unless I played on Merciless.

Nocturne was not like that, not a single boss was such BS like that. All of them were fair.
