any fix for the awful sound compression?

i don't remember it being like this. maybe it's cuz i upgraded my sound stuff. but feels sketchy. the sound compression is most notable for voices.

one of my favorite games ever, wanna replay it in the best condition possible.

I was also surprised when I heard the voice lines for the first time and they sounded more compressed than P4G's audio, which is a much older game

I think it was the same on PS4 tho. No solution. Might be the best conditions, already. It was probably forced by the devs to avoid taking even more storage

although I wish it was uncompressed in the PC release, I can sort of understand the decision and basically just got used to it

Doesn't sound like a file compression issue, but rather lack of de-essing. The s sounds can sound a bit sharp sometimes. At least for English voices.

yeah i'm getting used to it. ik there are a lot of games that have hugely inflated storage size because of the audio files. titanfall was an infamous example i think. so would make sense for them to compress the audio for this 150 hour (almost fully voice acted) game. kinda sad tho.

there is no fix for the audio issues, its been the buzz of the forums ever since the game came out the steam forum has been buzzing about the audio issues everyones getting. we have just been hoping the devs patch it up for us

The OP was talking about sound compression, not audio crackle. Two completely separate things.

You realize it takes a few seconds to look at your post history right? This one post I'm replying to is the only time you ever mention compression. You know what you've been complaining about 4 pages long about? Audio crackling and how a lot of people if not "everyone" is having this issues. By all means, prove that I'm trying to gaslight you.

Also to add in more about to this topic and thats why there is an edit. The OP is talking about the audio quality possibly due to compression, not due to an audio crackle bug that you supposedly have.
