How much do you trust Atlus to port P5 Royal in a great manner?

Played a bit on PC Game Pass yesterday. The PC port is good. Keyboard and Mouse support feels well implemented, the game can actually run above 120FPS without problems, they seemingly aren’t hardcoding resolution options. I can only say that the cap options (should be based on the screen refresh rate) and the lack of arbitrary aspect ratios are the only big problems with the port (setting aside the cut Raidou costume).

So glad that I’m able to (mostly) eat my words on this release.

Honestly it will depend entirely on how your specific hardware and drivers interacts with the game, much like most games, let's take Rage for an example it runs buttery smooth with max resolution and max graphics on certain computers and runs about as well as an asthmatic narcoleptic slooth on others (for Rage it ran just fine on Nvidia based cards but was unplayable for like the first month on ATI ones, but for other games it can come down to something as stupid as your webcam drivers conflicting with your SD card reader drivers causing your specific computer issues despite the game not using either of them. Heck there are games that run terrible on newer graphics cards but great on older ones.

For me personally it runs at a smooth 118-120 FPS at 4k with maxed out settings, but with PC there are so many variables it can run buttery smooth for 99% of people but that other 1% it runs like a steaming pile of bat guano so even if it works great for everyone else that doesn't garunteed it will run great for you, but the opposite is also true where it can run terrible for 99% of people but run great for you, there is no rhyme or reason to what will work because there are too many variables to know without trying.

guys, I ran into a problem when I get out of leblanc, I have wild lags and it's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up on any graphics settings, even at the lowest 320x200, I do not know who was responsible for optimization, but he's just incompetent, even on the ps 3 emulator, the fps was around 60 rofl

Read above... any game can run smooth as butter at 4k for most people but can run like a narcoleptic slug for a minority of people, that is the joys of PC gaming with different drivers and hardware on almost every single rig with no standards is sometimes some people just get very unlucky.

I am assuming you are just making ♥♥♥♥ up because no one would ever bother lowing it down that low because at that resolution it looks like you smeared Vaseline all over your screen. Now had you said 480p, then yeah maybe, 360 is pushing it looking as clear as having a glasses precipitation slightly off where it is a bit hazy but still viewable, but 200p or 200i, yeah no that is scope out an entire jar of Vaseline and smear it all over your screen.

But regardless of the fact as you saying that you tried 200p resolution and it still didn't run, is about as believable of a statement as you driving 100 miles in LA, during rush hour, in one hours. Let's pretend that is true, could be a number of things from outdated drivers, to you have bad sectors on your HD and the game files just happen to be in those sectors, to you are trying to run the game on a Commodore 64 which is pretty neato.

Edit: And by the way I know you copy pasted that reply because had you actually typed it the (heart)(heart)(heart) stuff would have been uncensored when I hit reply but the fact it was the censorship hearts means it was copy pasted from an existing comment and not an original comment. (Yup, if you want to see what word was censored all you have to do is hit reply then you can see the original text uncensored as you are replying to it go ahead, try it by hitting reply to mine when you do you will see the censored part of my text says hits but with the s in a different location) Pretty funny how you out yourself copy and pasting a reply without even realizing.

I would say terrible.

The network feature is not working at all in Game pass. This obviously a bug.
The optimization is bad. CPU spike suddenly when do the critical hit is not normal.

I did not try a super low resolution but from the symptom, I really think that it still might not work because the frame rate drop is not from too many object to render as the other game but from the bad optimization for specific effect.

i got crash whenever playing 1440 p in 120fps. Even lowering the setting wont prevent the crash, i tried to verfity the game but that endeed up took all of my save files so now i have to start from beginning. YIkes

My pc is almost 10 years old and I'm playing it with 60fps at 1080p. Even higher resolution runs well. I didn't encounter any crash in the first hours.

My only problem is anti-aliasing doesn't do anything. The user interface lacks the smooth lines found on PS4.

I was skipping constantly through the dialogue and cutscenes just to see if I have to refund the game because of poor performance or crashes. I'm glad the game runs well.

edit: I had to use the same resolution as my monitor for the anti-aliasing to work.

only issue for me is that 3440x1440 is default black barred you need flawless widescreen for ultrawide

Nearly 30 hours in and I haven't encountered any bugs, crashes or problems.

I run the game in 4K, 3840x2160 120FPS.

I played it back when the original launched on ps4. It plays perfect for me on pc.

In my experience thus far, it's the best Atlus port on PC (based on having played Catherine and Persona 4 Golden). It has some minor issues, but nothing that has been game breaking or annoying to the point of distraction.

For me it runs really well, all max 1080 p 144hz , rtx 2070 super,ryzen 5600x ,no problems so far

A few FPS drops and a bug where the resolution doesn't set (after setting it in graphics settings, it only actually applies after alt-tabbing out and back in again, now it's at native res). Other than that it has been OK on my system. These are definitely things they can fix after a couple patches (well I'd hope they would).
