Switch vs PC
HI all! Which version should I buy? Graphic resolution will obviously be higher on the PC, but the graphics on Persona games don't typically require real world fidelity. I don't care about Denuvo, so that's not an issue for me. PC via Steam will have achievements. Switch will allow me to play any time, anywhere (and I don't plan to buy a Steam Deck).

Thoughts? Anything else I should consider?

Assuming the game is steam deck Verified you can play it everywhere with a Steam deck too.

Atlus games very rarely get Steam deck verified. P4G is verified, but SMT Nocturne 3, and soul hackers 2, P5 strikers, Catherine. All not verified for steam deck.

PC for better graphics and 60 fps instead of 30 fps. Do yourself a favour and play this game in a private setting and not in public, airplane etc. for the best immersion, especially if you are playing for the first time - you do not want to ruin the experience.

If it will be anything like P5 Strikers it'll be heavily downgraded in graphics with 30 fps cap. PC, while not mobile, will not be downgraded and the 60 fps cap is likely to be gone.

Again, I have no intention of buying a Steam Deck. My Alienware laptop could easily run the game (and then some), but carting a laptop around with the power cord and mouse is nowhere near as convenient as carrying around my Switch. Downgraded graphics is a point, but again, with the cartoon-like look of the Persona games, is that really an issue? I do enjoy achievements, although I don't chase them like some. I can pre-purchase the Switch version now, but not the PC version yet. Is the launch date for PC less certain?

Still undecided.

Ofcourse it's simple to play this on PC. Unlocked FPS at first. I mean the Switch has issues running their native games even at 30 fps. BotW ran quite horrible.

Eh? I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. I've never had a graphics issue that bothered me that much in BotW.

True however at the Tokyo Games Show they showed off P5R running on the Steam Deck so there is a very good chance that it will be deck verified.

Switch if you want to play it at lower resolution and lower FPS. Is this even a debate, really?

No reason to play on Switch unless you want to do yourself a disservice, really.

Is resolution and FPS all people care about? The gameplay will be the same.

It probably will be steamdeck verified. I remember seeing a demo running on a steamdeck at a Japanese event iirc.

It's up to you to decide if you value portability or improved visuals, framerate and achievements more.

There's nothing wrong with getting this on Switch if that's what you want to do. Most people here are going to say PC because that's what they have, or where they're going to buy it.

From what I understand, this game has a very long runtime and maybe even too long, so perhaps portability does trump the visual and framerate bump you would get on PC. Being able to play in bed or something on your Switch might have a lot of value for a game like this.

Personally, I'll be buying it on both.
